My weekly AP top 25 ballot

Jan. 13, 2014 @ 11:36 AM

So many losses among the top 25 last week. I watched one (in disbelief) myself on Saturday in Pickens County, S.C.

Ohio State went from the top 5 to two losses. Conference games can be brutal. So can road games. North Carolina knows that all to well. Duke, too. That's why I dropped UNC out of my top 25 last week and Duke suffered the same consequence this week.

Saint Louis, which has won 10 games in a row and is 6-0 in true road games this season, did enough to get my attention with those two facts.

I ignored Pittsburgh throughout the season's first two months because I was unimpressed with the Panthers schedule. But Pitt has started its initial ACC schedule strong, including a win over N.C. State in Raleigh at PNC Arena.

And Louisiana Tech? Yep. Notice its win at Oklahoma.

So with all that data in mind, here's the ballot I submitted to the Associated Press:

1. Arizona
2. Syracuse
3. Wisconsin

4. Michigan State

5. Wichita State
6. Villanova

7. Florida
8. San Diego State

9. Iowa State

10. Baylor

11. Oklahoma State

12. Iowa

13. Kentucky

14. Kansas

18. Cincinnati

19. Pittsburgh

20. Creighton

21. Saint Louis
