Case 48: A mother and her two boys, ages 1 and 8, are currently living in a domestic violence shelter. The mother is currently enrolled in courses to obtain her GED, as well as actively searching for employment. The family had to flee from the family home due to safety concerns, so they have few belongings. Mom is scraping all the money she can to provide a home, but things look bleak for the immediate future. The family needs a lot: coats and clothes for all, everything needed to set up a household (towels, bedding and kitchen utensils). This brave mom would love for her kids to have some toys and books this Christmas. Please dig deep and help this family who has endured so much.
Case 41: This 67-year-old lady has a chronic degenerative condition that limits her mobility. She lives alone. She has a very positive attitude and makes do with what she has. Her fixed income provides for basic costs but few extras. Those extras include undergarments which she would really appreciate this holiday season.
Case 42: The father of this two-parent family with eight children was laid off recently during the time the mother was hospitalized for three weeks. Because of the mother's health problems, his was the only income to support the entire family; even then they struggled. With the loss of his job, the situation has become even more dire, with the family desperate to make ends meet on a daily basis. Please brighten their holidays with household items, cleaning supplies, clothes, games, toys, and maybe a bike or scooter.
Case 43: This 82-year-old, disabled woman lives alone. She suffers from arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and high blood pressure. She is unable to handle her personal care and will have no money for anything special this Christmas without help. She would be very grateful for a bathrobe and some pajamas.
Case 44: This young mother of three works full-time, but struggles to make ends meet from month to month. The holidays will make it even more difficult, as she will have no money for gifts for her three girls, ages 4, 6 and 8. They could use some blankets, household supplies, and bath products. Mom would be thrilled with some slippers and for her girls to get a Baby Alive Doll and an Easy Bake Oven.
Case 45: This single mother of four children was recently laid off from her job. As she seeks new employment in this tough economic environment, prospects for having any extra money for Christmas dim each day. Please help brighten their holidays with some underwear, cleaning supplies, toys and perfume.
Case 46: This 54-year-old woman is single, works full time, and is raising her three grandchildren. She prides herself in being able to provide the necessities for the kids, but will not have money for gifts once the bills are paid. This makes her very sad because she loves them all very much. Please brighten their holiday by helping out with cleaning supplies and silverware for the home. Imagine this proud grandmother beaming as the grandkids excitedly unwrap gifts selected especially for them.
Case 47: It breaks this elderly woman's heart not to be able to buy Christmas presents for her granddaughter and great-granddaughter who now live with her. She suffers from limited mobility and relies on a fixed income to provide for the family. A house dress, bedroom slippers, cookware and towels would help, and she would love to have a baby doll and clothes for her 3-year-old great-granddaughter.
Case 49: This father of two is caring for his disabled wife and has been unable to find work. He would like more than anything to provide a nice holiday for his wife and kids. They all need coats and other warm clothes. The 9-year-old boy would love some action-figure toys, and his 11-year-old sister, an avid reader, would love some books.
Case 51: This 71-year-old woman, a retired jailer and cook from the prison system, lives on a very fixed income which leaves very little room for extra spending. She loves gospel music and attending church functions. Any assistance this holiday season would help make it memorable for her.
Case 52: This 53-year-old man lives alone and has many medical problems. He requires assistance with his daily activities and has no family to help or provide moral support or comfort. He has very limited resources and would really appreciate some clothes this Christmas.
Case 53: Living alone with serious medical conditions, this 52-year-old woman needs help with her daily activities. She has no family in the area. Please help by providing bedding, glasses, silverware and maybe something special and comforting for this lonely woman in need.
Case 54: This 30-year-old single mother of three children ages 2 to 12 is in need of basic cleaning and personal care supplies. The girls need clothing and a comforter set; the 3-year-old would love some dress-up clothes and toys. Mom needs wipes and pull-ups for the 2-year-old boy and thinks he would look very cute in a baseball cap.
Case 57: This elderly couple is raising their grandchildren on a fixed income, making it very difficult for them financially. They put their children first and never ask for any help. Christmas is always a difficult time for them because they cannot exchange gifts or prepare a special meal. A generous Share Your Christmas sponsor would certainly brighten the holiday season for this family.
Case 59: This 26-year-old single mom works full time and cares for her three children, providing the bare necessities with no additional support. She is able to pay all the bills, but once they are paid, there is nothing left. It breaks her heart that she cannot provide gifts for her kids for Christmas. Groceries, cleaning supplies, clothes, games, books, and maybe a bike for the 8-year-old boy would warm their hearts and yours.
Case 60: A stroke left this 52-year-old woman disabled several years ago. She has made a great recovery, but memory problems prevent her from working. Her fixed income provides for the necessities, but nothing extra. She would greatly appreciate a set of cooking pans this Christmas. She suggested checking at Rose's.
Case 62: This single grandmother of 55 is raising her two granddaughters, ages 8 and 9. She had a stroke this year and is receiving therapy and making a reasonable recovery. Please consider sponsoring this family who has fallen upon hard times recently.
Case 63: This 57-year-old disabled aunt has custody of and is raising her two nieces, ages 8 and 9. She receives disability, but the new members of the family put a strain on her resources. They need a toaster, linens and a flashlight for the home. The girls need clothes and would love a bubblegum machine, games and dolls.
Case 64: This 84-year-old woman has several medical conditions that require assistance with daily activities. She lives with family members with very limited resources. A Share Your Christmas sponsor who could provide silverware, bedroom slippers and a housecoat would be a holiday blessing for this home.
Case 65: Recently separated from her husband, this 30-year-old mother of two girls, ages 4 and 10, is working hard to provide a stable household for her children. The children are coping well despite the recent separation. Mom has little income to support the family at this time. This family could use household items, bath and body products and games. The girls would be overjoyed to receive a bike for Christmas.
Case 66: This 32-year-old single mother of three recently lost her job. Although she has been pounding the pavement to find work, she has so far been unsuccessful. Prospects for a nice holiday season seem dim without help from a Share Your Christmas sponsor. Mom needs clothes, cleaning supplies, silverware and plates. The kids, two boys and a girl ranging in age from 6 to 12 would be delighted with some new clothes, bikes, jewelry and educational games.
Case 67: Working full time at a job that ends in November, this aunt, who is raising her 9-year-old niece, will need help this holiday season. They need linens for the home. The aunt needs clothes and a comforter set, while the 9-year-old niece needs clothes (but would love a Baby Alive doll or a play kitchen set).
Case 69: This 48-year-old disabled woman has recently had open heart surgery and multiple stomach surgeries. She lives on a very limited income and faces mounting medical bills. She is in dire need of assistance this Christmas. She needs winter clothing, including long skirts that are casual, yet dressy enough for church, long sleeve shirts, tight, a hat and gloves.
Case 70: Elderly grandparents on a fixed income are caring for their 8- and 2-year-old grandsons to prevent them from entering DSS foster care. They have very little for basic needs, and will have nothing extra for the holiday season without help. They need pots and pans, a coffee maker, towels, and clothes and coats for the boys.
Case 71: The matriarch of this family of seven lost her job recently and is struggling desperately to provide for the four grandchildren in her care to prevent them from entering foster care. The children, ages 4 to 13, would like books, toys and an MP3 player. Grandmother needs gardening supplies, linens, towels, household items, pots, pans and dishes.
Case 72: This disabled 75-year-old woman lives with her 92-year-old mother. The daughter is diabetic and nonambulatory. She loves it when family members visit, but it isn't too often, as they all work. It is very difficult for the mother to provide care. The daughter's only request is a house coat, a couple of night gowns, white socks and underwear. The mother has requested no gifts. Perhaps a kind and generous Share Your Christmas sponsor could think of something she would like.
Case 74: This 41-year-old woman is caring for a friend's 15-month-old baby who has been placed in the custody of DSS. The woman is disabled and recently had back surgery, but she believes family is important, so she has stepped up to the plate to care for this child and support her friend in her attempt to reunite the family. She needs diapers and clothes for the baby and would like some perfume and lotion for herself, along with stuffed animals for the baby to play with.
