Case 305: Being a source of strength for others has never been a problem for this single mom. She’s overcome many hurdles to be sure that her children are well cared for. Her 17-year-old son has received a scholarship to a private school and plans to attend college next year. Her 15-year-old daughter is working toward her cosmetology license while still in high school. Mom offers support not only for her six children, but for other women in her church and neighborhood. She needs your help to be sure her children have a Merry Christmas. The family needs socks as well as clothing in sizes men’s L and 36x36 pants; ladies’ M and size 7; girls’ size 10-12; and kid’s size 6 and 3T. Her art-inspired kids have asked for oil painting supplies, digital cameras, an iPod Nano, a white board with Expo markers, a Bratz doll, a Leap Frog learning toy, coloring books and crayons, a Talking Elmo and a riding toy for a 2-year-old. Mom would like interview-appropriate clothing in size 14 along with silverware, pants and socks.
Case 322: Being a single mom to three fast-growing, energetic boys is no easy task, especially when mom’s income can’t cover necessities like winter clothing, let alone extras like Christmas gifts. The boys, ages 1 to 11, need clothing in sizes 18-24 months, kids’ size 12, men’s size 38 and 2X; and socks for shoe sizes 4 ½ and 10. Mom would like a baby bouncer, play mat and infant accessories for the baby; the older boys would like PlayStation and board games. Mom also needs some cookware.
Case 323: Retired from her career, this grandmother has now taken on raising her grandson on her own. He’s 14 and needs men’s watch jeans size 38x29 and a 2x black jacket without a hood; he’d also like a PlayStation III football game. Grandma needs a coat size 16-18 and socks size 9-11.
Case 325: This single mom supports herself and seven others on a minimum wage job, leaving nothing for Christmas for the kids ages 3 and up. The kids have asked for Spiderman anything in size 5; Bratz anything in size 12; pants in size 36 and tops in size 3X; MP3 players; socks, thermals, boxers. Mom would like pants and tops size 24/3X and some red pots and pans.
Case 326: It’s been two years since this single mom lost her job and her home. She’s hoping you can help make Christmas brighter for her five kids ages 4 to 16. They need shirts, pants, boxers and coats in sizes 4T, ladies’ 13-14, boys’ 10, men’s 34-36 and 36-38; socks in adult and toddler size; panties for the 4-year-old girl in size 3; towels, wash cloths, pots & pans. Mom would like house slippers and a night gown, size XL.
Case 327: When these three children lost their mother, their grandmother took them in. She loves going to church and would also love for her grandkids to have a happy holiday. The girls, ages 13 and 15, need pants, skirts and blouses in sizes 12 and 15-16; pajamas in sizes M and L and would also like perfume and an electronic Monopoly City game. The 17-year-old boy needs dress shirts size 15 ½-16, dress pants in 34x31, socks, boxers and tanks and would like cologne and dominos. Grandma needs a gown and robe size 3X and would like king size flannel sheets, a large print Bible and Bible case, Rare Gold perfume from Avon and a digital alarm clock.
Case 329: Three generations of women share a place in public housing, but medical problems keep mom and grandma from being able to provide anything beyond basics for the 6-year-old. The little girl needs pants and shirts girls’ size 7/8, a coat, underwear and socks. She’d love a Leap Frog game and a doll. Mom needs pants size women’s 7/8, bras in 38B, shirts in M, and a queen size bed set. Grandma needs a warm-up suit size 1X, bras in 49B, and socks.
Case 330: This grandmother not only lost her companion of 22 years recently; she also lost her only source of income to care for her three grandchildren. All of the kids need clothes — pants in men’s 40x32 and 34x30 as well as Junior size 1 (12 year old girl prefers skinny jeans in colors of red and blue); shirts in men’s 3X, L, and ladies’ S; underwear (bra size 32B) and socks. All three kids have asked for an MP3 player, and grandma would greatly appreciate a full-size comforter set as well as some towels and washcloths.
Case 331: This mother has her hands full caring for a child with lupus as well as an aging grandmother. She refuses to let things get her down, bringing joy to others around her. Help her find joy for her family this Christmas by providing boys’ pants and tops in size 8; women’s pants in size 18 and XL tops; jogging outfits, bedroom shoes and house dresses in size L (favorite color is purple); a nice pink girly pajama set in size XL; and a queen size comforter set.
Case 332: Caring for a 3-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl keeps this mother and grandmother close. They’ve asked for nothing for themselves, only that they can have some help to make Christmas special for the children. They need pants in 3T, shirts in 4T, pants in Junior 5-6, long sleeved shirts in Junior L, bras in 14/16. The little girl would like a baby doll, Xbox games, a Gameboy and games, and a bike. The little boy would like a bike, games for Nintendo Game Cube, and educational toys.
Case 333: Smiles on Christmas morning will be hard to come by for this family without your help. A single mother of four has also taken in her niece and nephew and would love for them to have presents to open. All need jeans, sizes 10 and 12 girls, 11 juniors, 14 girls, 14 boys; shirts sizes girls 8, XL, girls M, boys 14; and socks. The older three children have asked for MP3 players while the younger girls would love Bratz dolls and board games. Mom needs some pots and pans and would like to have Monopoly City to play with the kids.
Case 334: Strike up a conversation with this gentleman and you will find him to be very friendly and appreciative of any help he can get. Legally blind, he needs help with a winter coat, size XXL.
Case 335: Blindness does not keep this gentleman in the house. Very active in the community, he attends groups weekly and greatly appreciates any kindness extended to him this holiday season. He would like to have a Norelco electric shaver and a Jockey strap in size M/L.
Case 94: This very young mother of a 1-year-old boy is completing her certification for Business Office Technology and also working on her GED. In the meantime, she and her son are living with her grandmother who is disabled and on a fixed income. Please help bring some joy to this family with new clothes, toys and diapers.
Case 95: This 43-year-old, single mother of two struggles to take care of her 3-year-old girl and 1-month-old boy due to unemployment caused by mental health and substance abuse issues. Mother is currently in treatment and is making progress to pull everything together for the new year. Clothes, toys and diapers would go a long way toward making this Christmas bright.
Case 96: This single mother struggles to support her girls, ages 3 and 17, as she is employed on an as-needed basis only. Her hours have been restricted with the downturn in the economy. Her teenage daughter is doing well in school and is well taken care of. The family could use a microwave oven, towels, sheets and clothes. The 3-year-old would love a Barbie doll.
Case 97: This 63-year-old disabled woman lives alone. She has multiple health problems including arthritis, respiratory difficulty, sleep apnea and bouts with depression. Due to her medical condition and physical limitation, she is unable to carry out her daily activities. A cotton blanket and a cardigan sweater would make her smile.
Case 98: This 39-year-old, single mother of seven suffers from mental illness that prevents her from working and taking care of her children. Case 76: This single, 29-year-old, working mother of five could really use some help this Christmas. The children range in age from 3 to 12 years, three boys and two girls. All, including Mom, could use socks and coats. Special gifts for the kids might include toys and earrings for the 10-year-old girl.
Case 78: This family could truly use some holiday cheer this season. The young parents are bringing together a blended family of four boys, ages 1 to 9. One of the school-aged children has been struggling with a condition that compromises his ability to stay focused in school and control his behavior. Now that they have the diagnosis and an understanding of what is needed in their home environment, the family is determined to take whatever steps are necessary to build a steady, loving home. With very limited resources, a SYC sponsor could help out a lot.
Case 80: This 35-year-old mother of four works hard every day to provide for her family. Unfortunately, they can only afford the basics. The family consists of Mom, three boys, ages 11 months to 14 years and a 19-year-old girl. Mother is barely able to pay bills and now finds it extremely difficult to buy gifts, especially bikes, which all three children have requested for Christmas. In addition to the bikes, the family would be delighted with pots and pans, towels/washcloths, tableware, glassware and clothes.
Case 101: Help bring joy to this single mother and her 1-year-old daughter. Both mother and child are homeless and are relying on a friend for shelter. Case 104: A gentle woman of 63 years is in need of a kind heart. This lovely woman had to retire early because of her chronic health problems. Her fixed income pays the rent and basic food costs but never allows for any additional purchases. A gift of warm pajamas would be the perfect end to her long year.

Case 109: This 76-year-old woman is disabled and lives alone on a limited income. And, without the help of others, she will not get to experience a Christmas this year. She asks that Santa bring her new towels and other household items to put under the tree.
Case 111: Despite all her physical ailments, this elderly lady has maintained a wonderful sense of humor. Her stroke left her confined to a wheelchair but that does not affect her compassionate nature. She really enjoys having her loved ones visit her apartment and would appreciate new items for her kitchen to make this holiday special.
Case 112: Santa needs your help to provide this sweet great-grandmother with a Christmas. She has recently taken on the responsibility of raising her 9-month-old great-grandchild and does not have the means to give her a first Christmas. She could use wash cloths and winter clothes for her family.
Case 113: This single mother of eight is in desperate need of a helping hand. She is working a minimum wage job to assist in providing for her family and is worried her children will go without during the holidays. She would be thankful for any assistance that can help ensure her family experiences a Christmas.

Both boys also need school uniforms of polo shirts and khaki pants and would like to have a skateboard, Leap Frog game, and radio. Mom needs wash cloths and would love some picture frames.
