CHAPEL HILL -- He never could say goodbye, girl.

Anoop Desai, who said that his concert at the N.C. State Fair last week was his farewell concert to the Triangle, is already heading back home from his new home in Los Angeles for another concert, this one at UNC.

Desai, who finished sixth on American Idol, has been booked to perform a concert for UNC's homecoming at Memorial Hall on the UNC campus on Nov. 8.

Desai sang with the Clef Hangers when he was a student at UNC. Three former UNC Clef Hangers, Pablo Vega, Brandon Jackson-Baird and David Mikush, along with Jack Hitchens and Nick Alwon-Mount, will back Desai.

Mikush, a singer/songwriter who lives in Atlanta, will perform the opening act.

The concert is free for UNC students, who may obtain tickets online or at the Memorial Hall Box office beginning Monday. UNC students must show their OneCards in order to obtain a ticket.

If there are any tickets left after the students claim their tickets, the general public may purchase them for $5 beginning Nov. 6, either online at memorialhall.unc.edu or at the box office at Memorial Hall beginning at 10 a.m.

Although some advertisements have said the show begins at 8 p.m. it is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., and corrections to some of the advertisements have been partially corrected.
