Sold out

With the coming of the new year, I think it would be appropriate for the American people to rationalize what’s gone wrong with our country.

We hate to admit it, because we all think our elected leaders are actually looking out for us. This isn’t a partisan letter; just go down memory lane and see just how this country got to where we are. You don’t have to keep writing your congressional representative or senator. Just go online to see how they voted on certain issues. They constantly rely on your emotions about our troops. But every bill that’s put on the floor to support our troops or veterans, they kill.

Our support or voices are only needed every two or four years. Between that time, you are irrelevant. After the handshakes and speeches are gone, keep checking on your representative. The American people didn’t cause this debacle, so don’t think you did. The people we thought were looking out for us sold us out.

Keep activity up

It was such a joy to see so many people walking and shopping at Northgate Mall during the week of Christmas. Let’s please keep this activity up. We want and need Northgate to stay with us – this is our only place to walk and shop on this side of Durham.
