Health insurance changing lives

I have been working as a volunteer for Get Covered America educating Durhamites about the affordable healthcare options they can find as part of the Affordable Care Act, and I would like to share my excitement about doing that. Many people who enrolled have been able to visit doctors and afford prescriptions for the first time in a long while.  It’s really touching to hear different stories about new enrollees getting the healthcare they need.

The Affordable Care Act insurance is making a big difference in the lives of some Durhamites who couldn’t afford coverage before. Many managed to get financial help. In only its first open enrollment, more than 357,000 North Carolinians enrolled with 91 percent of those enrolling getting some form of financial help.

I would really want to let all the other Durhamites out there know about this great opportunity to have health coverage. Even though open enrollment ended March 31, some who have qualifying life events -- such as getting married, having a child, moving or losing other health coverage -- can still enroll now before the Nov. 15 start of open enrollment. If they need help from experts in enrolling, they can schedule appointments by calling 1-855-733-3711. Please help us spread the message about the affordable health coverage options.

Educate extremists

The United States needs to drop leaflets to target the brainwashed Islamic State in Iraq and Syria kid extremists and educate them that murder is not to be rewarded in the afterlife of any religion! World religious leaders need to get together now and come up with a common-sense solution on how to target the mindset of these extremists who actually grow up and believe they will become martyrs if they kill for their religion.
Take out religion and educate the extremist that if their mother, father and friends are murdered by others, do they feel that it's right for others to take the life of another human being for any reason?  The mindset of these people has to change now because they are growing in numbers and claiming to "raise the flag of Allah in the White House."

Please talk to your religious leaders, local media, congressman, etc.  Who can step up now and make this happen?
