Aveda moving to Chapel Hill’s University Mall

DURHAM -- The Aveda Institute was formally announced Monday as a new tenants for University Mall, along with Planet Fitness.

The cosmetology school is on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. The move has been rumored, but was confirmed in an announcement on Monday.

Durham start-up Validic announces new partners

DURHAM – The health data startup Validic announced Monday that it has added new clients and partners.

Validic has developed technology that can get data from wearable health-care-related devices and apps and send it to hospitals, corporate wellness programs and other businesses that want to analyze and track it.

The company said Monday that it has added 25 percent more clinical and wellness devices that it can get data from. The list includes partners like Omron, Misfit Wearables and Polar.

Validic made the announcement from the Health Datapalooza event in Washington.
