It’s not your usual Grit Award this week; we’re not going to focus on a single group or person. Instead, it’s a collective award. That’s appropriate, since we need a crowd to hoist our glasses in a toast to the brewers who came together to create the Beer Fest Beer for Durham’s wildly successful annual World Beer Festival.
The Beer Fest Beer drew on the talents of Seth Gross of Bull City Burger and Brewery and Sean Lily Wilson of Fullsteam Brewery, brought together by the All About Beer Magazine staff, which also runs the festival. As an aside, we wish they could have worked in something more Durham-centric and hope next year they consider calling it the Beer Fest Bull City Brew.
The crafting of a beer for the festival by Durham brewers is a great way to showcase the city's talent at the festival, as well as to brand the festival as Durham’s.
We toast the beer creators and the festival for this week’s award, and we are grateful for the influx of people and dollars that the Oct. 5 event will bring to the Bull City.
