Incumbents Donna Coffey and Brenda Stephens secured two of the four Orange County Schools Board of Education seats that were up for grabs in Tuesday’s election, while newcomers Tom Carr and Rosa Williams took two others.
Six people are competing for the four seats available on the Orange County Board of Education.
Incumbents Donna Coffey and Brenda Stephens want to continue their service on the board while Greg Andrews, Tom Carr, Michael H. Hood and Rosa D. Williams want the opportunity to serve. Current board members Debbie Piscitelli and Anne Medenblik are not seeking another term.
The filing period for the May primary election has closed, with the sheriff’s race being the most crowded field. Six Democrats are vying for the position.
Larry D. Faucette, Buddy Parker, Andy Cagle, Keith Webster, David Caldwell Jr. and Charles Blackwood all are hoping to replace longtime Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass.
