Gladys Lea Turner Langdon
DURHAM - Mrs. Gladys Lea Turner Langdon, 86, of Durham, died on Thursday, September 12, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Langdon, in 1989.
She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Sauls (Jimmy) and Denise Hayes (Bob); two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Roy Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at

Lee Kerwin Lewis
DURHAM — Funeral Service for Mr. Lee Kerwin Lewis (58) of Durham, N.C. will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Ambassador Cathedral Church and the interment will follow in the Glennview Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with their friends one hour before the funeral service.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Lewis Lassiter; step-father, Rev. Joshua Lassiter; one brother, Mr. Glenn Lewis; one sister, Mrs. Deborah Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charlie Nunn Jr.
DURHAM — Charlie Nunn Jr., 83, departed his life on September 5, 2013. He is survived by two sons, one daughter, two sisters, and host of relatives and friends. 
The funeral will be at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September, 14 at 1 p.m., with visitation at noon.

James Russell Jr.
DURHAM - James Russell Jr. departed his life on September 5, 2013. He is survived by his two sons, Andre and Frederick Russell; two sisters, Anne Taylor, Barbara Lipscomb; one brother, Marvin Russell and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be today, September 13, 2013, at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home at 1 p.m., with visitation at noon. 

Myron Eugene “Gene” Wade
PITTSBORO — Mr. Myron Eugene Wade, 85, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Pittsboro Christian Village. He was born in Person Co. to the late Benjamin Franklin Wade and Hattie Johnson Wade. He was also predeceased by a brother, Benjamin Wade. Mr. Wade was an elder at Northgate Chapel and retired from GMAC.
Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, Jane Wade of Pittsboro; son, Gene Wade Jr. (Lynette) of Aurora, IL; daughter, Becky W. Smith (Luther) of Durham; son, Robert Wade (Carolann) of Cary; daughter, Charlotte W. Thrall (Billy) of Phoeniz, AZ; sister, Harriett Bowles; grandchildren, Stephanie W. Stoller (Chip), Melissa W. Trumble (John), Kristy W. Wilson (Mike), Laura W. Hartley (Adam), Ben Wade (fiancé, Beth Robinette), Sarah Wade, Michael Thrall, Jonathan Thrall, Joshua Thrall, Matthew Smith, Ethan Smith, Zachery Wade, Nathan Wade, Hannah Wade; 13 great grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
A memorial service will be held 12 p.m., Saturday at Northgate Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Birchwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
The family would like to thank the Duke Cancer Center, Croasdaile Village, UNC Hospice and Pittsboro Christian Village for their loving care.

Jesse R. (Dickie) Porterfield
ST. ANDREWS, SCOTLAND — Dickie Porterfield, 64, died on August 19, 2013 in Inverary Scotland. He was a native of the Walnut Grove Community in Orange County, the son of the late Jesse O. and Sadie Wilson Porterfield. Dickie attended Mitchell College, North Carolina State University and graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He was a long time employee of the Agriculture Services Agency in Orange County, and a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. In recent years he had relocated to St. Andrews, Scotland and became a citizen of Great Britain early in 2013. He was a diehard Duke fan and followed the teams from across the pond.
Dickie is survived in St. Andrews, Scotland, by his wife, Isobel; and step-son, David; step-daughter, Pamela; and a large extended family. He is survived in North Carolina by his brother-in-law, William G. (Bill) Rimmer; and niece, Joan Matherly and her children, Jessica Lynn and Kody Andrew Matherly of Alamance County; and many cousins and friends. His sister, Marsha Carol P. Rimmer died on September 4, 2013.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15 at 3:30 p.m. at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to attend. Memorials may be made for Alzheimer’s Research or to Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, 7215 Walnut Grove Church Road, Hurdle Mills, N.C. 27541.
