Robert Ronald Bell
DURHAM - Robert Ronald Bell, born on April 21,1943 at the Lincoln Hospital to the late George and Eva L. Bell, departed this life on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Brian Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Durham, NC. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Union Baptist Church, 904 N. Roxboro Street, Durham, NC at 1 p.m., following the family visitation at noon.
He received his education in the Durham City Schools, the Marion County, SC Centenary High School, the Durham Technical School, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and the Bull City Barber College. He was a retired businessman who made lasting contributions in the Durham community as he passionately provided employment and other accommodations for many in his varied business endeavors. He was proud of each of his endeavors and added creativity to all of his involvements, whether barbering, trucking, manufacturing, food service, car repair or simply providing hospitality for any event
He was always appreciative of his support received from the Heart Team at Duke Medical Center, church family, his family and special friends who gave him tremendous strength and courage to persevere throughout his challenging health battle.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Sonya Bell Ham and Angela Michelle Bell; grands, Corey, Christa, Daniel and Quinton; sisters, Sarah Bell-Lucas and Dorothy Juanita Bell Pegram Archibald; brother, George Bell Jr.; nephews, George Bell III, William "Billy" Lucas, Geoffrey Bell, Louis Johnson, Reginald J. Archibald, and Eric White; nieces, Karen Pegram White, Lisa Bell, and Kimberly Flowers; grand nephew and nieces, Geoffrey Bell, Marcus Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Aniya Johnson, Jeremiah and Isaiah Archibald, Noah, Harrison, Myles and Justin White; Amber Flowers, and Kyndal Lucas; uncle, Robert Pennington; aunts, Dorothy Louise Neblett, Erie Crawford Bell, and Alice Dillard Luster; brother-in-law, Isaac Johnson, and some other close significant persons in his life, Helen, Willie and Ann, Joyce, GiGi, Jeffrey, Naomi and a host of other relatives, classmates and friends.

Chris Brice Richards
DURHAM – Chris Brice Richards, 44, of Surf City, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence. Born in Durham County, Mr. Richards was the son of Donald Lee Richards and Lydia Richards of Durham. Chris was a graduate of Northern High School and attended Cape Fear Community College. Mr. Richards was a charter fisherman in Surf City, and he really loved fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Richards is survived by a brother, Jeff Richards, of Greensboro.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday at Clements Funeral Chapel, Durham, with Rev. Jack Moody officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elmore Dabney Gooch Jr.
OXFORD — Mr. Elmore Dabney Gooch Jr., age 79, died Saturday, August 3. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 6, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Reverend Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: 12:30 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, c/o Cemetery Fund, 1171 Hwy. 158, Oxford, NC 27565.
