Marian Weathers Johnson

DURHAM — Marian Weathers Johnson, 82, departed her life on April 2, 2014.  She is survived by her sons, Johnnie L. Garner (Angela), Cecil Johnson, Jr. and daughters Shelia L. Barbour and Cecilia H. Johnson; brother Joe L. Weathers (Evelyn) and  sister Margaret Weathers.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Felicia L. Garner, one son Bernaza L. Barbour;  two grandsons, Mario F. Garner and Reginald D. Johnson and one great-great grandson, Kamon Barrett; three sisters, Mildred W. Royal, Mary W. Terry and Alice W. Brooks. She passed away at Peak Treyburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility.  She was also a long term resident of Carver Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Calvary United Church of Christ, 1715 Athens Street, Durham, NC, on April 8, 2014.  Visitation will be held at noon and funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm.  Arrangements entrusted to Holloway Memorial Funeral Home.


Rhonda Ann “Tootsie” Keith
DURHAM — Rhonda Ann “Tootsie” Keith, 58, of Durham died on Friday, April 4, 2014. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. She was the daughter of the late Azzie Keith. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, loved her Church and always enjoyed the Lord’s Supper at Church. She also enjoyed watching TV. She was preceded in death by her guardian parents Lucy and Ovid Morton.
She is survived by four brothers, Willie Keith, Ray Keith, Carlyle Morton and Sam Morton, five sisters, Azzie Lee Salmon, Mary Roberts, Wilma Garner, Jo Ann Rozier and Linda Smith.
Graveside service will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pastor John Rigsbee will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Down Syndrome Clinic, Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital, 3000 Erwin Rd., Durham, NC 27705. Lewis Edward Smith
DURHAM — Mr. Lewis Edward Smith, 83, of Durham died on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church.

Larry Foyster Torain
DURHAM — Larry Foyster Torain, 65 of Cedar Grove, N C died Friday, April 04,2014 in the Veterans Hospital, Durham, N C.
The funeral will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday in Hester's Grove Baptist Church with family visitation one hour before the funeral 12:00PM until 1:00 PM. Burial inthe church cemetery.
Surviving are children, Kippard Torain and Kitnequa Evans, and Quanita Torain, brother, Willie James Torain, sister, Evelyn T Rice and Aunt-Mother, Ruth Fuller.
Public Viewing Tuesday 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM in Chavis-Parker Funeral Home.

Nathan Weaver Sr.
DURHAM — Funeral services for Nathan Weaver Sr., will be held Tuesday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Survivors include wife, Hazel Ann Leathers Weaver; 3 daughters; Lisa R. Weaver, Angela Y. Weaver and Debbie L. Satterfield (Reginald), 2 sons, Nathan Weaver Jr. and Tracy Weaver (Jonia); 4 grandchildren; a host of family, friends and other relatives.

Thomas Daniel Oakley

TIMBERLAKE — Thomas Daniel Oakley, Sr. 79 of Miller Road died, Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Mr. Oakley was born in Halifax County, VA and was the son of the late Toby and Ora Hudson Oakley. He is also predeceased by his wife, Margot Schubert Oakley; one sister, Eleanor O. King; and three brothers, Malcom M. Oakley, J. Chester Oakley, and Percy C. Oakley. Mr. Oakley was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church and also served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Surviving are his four children, Brenda O. Saunders and husband Buck; Ann O.
Warren and husband Earl, both of Roxboro; Thomas Daniel "Danny" Oakley, Jr.
and wife Nancy, of Ringgold, VA; Robert Oakley and wife Georgia, of Roxboro; three sisters, Lois O. Eggleston, Reva O. Houck, and Theresa S. Oakley, all of Roxboro; eight granchildren, three step-granchildren, seven great-granchildren, and three step-great-granchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Brooks and White Chapel by the Rev. John Prichard. Interment will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00PM, Monday, April 7,
2014 at Brooks and White Funeral Home.
