Master Jeremiah R. Blue
DURHAM - Master Jeremiah R. Blue, age 10, passed on April 14, 2013. He was the son of Ms. Carolyn Ann Rogers.
Jeremiah was a fifth grader in Ms. Sandiford's class at Parkwood Elementary School. He enjoyed soccer and paintball.
Jeremiah is survived by his mom, Ms. Carolyn Rogers; his grandmother, Mrs. Angela Mack; grandfather, Michael Mack; and aunts, Shavon Green, Shavonda Green and Krisy Rogers.
Jeremiah's service will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Scarborough and Hargett Funeral Home at one o'clock. A visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the service.

Edwin Hall Bryant
DURHAM — Mr. Edwin Hall Bryant, 92, died April 17, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. Mr. Bryant was born in Wake Co. on Sept. 22, 1920, the son of the late Fred and Lector Bryant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Servitex/Alsco in Durham. Mr. Bryant served our country during World War II in the Coast Guard for six years. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church before becoming ill. His greatest passions were spending time with his family and fishing at the coast.
Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Hazel Garner Bryant; son, John Calvin Bryant and wife, Angela Carter, of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Emily of Hillsborough, NC, Aaron and wife, Sarah of Easley, SC, Bryson and wife, Anna; and great grandchild, Alivia of Timberlake, NC; brother-in-law, KC Garner and wife, Helen of Branchburg, NJ; nephew, Corey Garner and wife, Megan of Lansdale, PA.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie; two brothers, Cleveland and Henry; and two sisters, Hazel and Grace.
A celebration of life will be held Friday April 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Wayside Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC with Pastor Brad Williams and Pastor Jody Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 12:30 before the service.

Mary Lyndon Dossett
DURHAM - Mary Lyndon Dossett, age 85, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Hock Family Pavilion. Mary was born in Raleigh to the late Joseph Reese and Anna Lloyd Lyndon on May 21, 1927. 
Mary was a long time member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Durham and presently a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Linda Dossett Berini and husband, Danny, of Durham, NC, Joyce Dossett Sprouse and husband, Robert, of Chapel Hill, NC; four grandchildren, Todd Whaley, Jason Whaley, Joe Berini and Donny Berini; eight great grandchildren, Ashleigh Whaley, Sam Whaley, Hannah Whaley, MacKenzie Whaley, Joey Berini, J.C. Berini, Louis Berini, and Jackson Berini; and one great-great grandchild, Layken Parrish. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Newton Dossett.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Reverend Doug Lain officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary from 2-3 p.m.
Pall Bearers will be Joe Berini, Donny Berini, Todd Whaley, Sam Whaley, Jason Whaley, and Joe Lyndon.
All who knew Mary knew her deep love for people, animals of all kinds, plants, flowers, and Myrtle Beach. She will be remembered for being a wonderful example to all who knew her of how to live life to the fullest and how to treat all of life’s gifts with care. Her love of animals can be seen in her most recent rescue of Walter the cat who she found in Raleigh and named for Sir Walter Raleigh. She loved Walter deeply, and they made great companions since finding each other.
Mary felt most blessed to have met an angel on earth during her last five years named Patricia Thorpe. Mary thought Pat hung the moon and shared many wonderful memories together.

Frances Lyons McNeal
DURHAM - Frances Lyons McNeal, 85, wife of the late Rev. William R. McNeal Sr., departed her life on April 17, 2013. She leaves behind two daughters; two sons; an adopted daughter; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral will be Cameron Grove Baptist Church, 816 Berwyn Avenue, Durham, NC, Sunday, 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be at 1 p.m.

Pamela T. Moody
DURHAM — Pamela T. Moody, born April 9, 1956 passed away on April 16, 2013 at Duke Hospital.
She is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Moody; one son, Larry Moody; sisters, Julia, Lillian, Brenda, Betty and Linda; brothers, Howard Jr., Franky, Eddie, Bobby; one granddaughter, Marianna; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 4 until 5:30 p.m. at 3218 N. Roxboro Road., Durham, NC.


Betty Jane Rigsbee
DURHAM — Mrs. Betty Jane Rigsbee, 75, passed away Wednesday evening, April 17, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born in Durham County to the late Jesse Mizell and Beulah Conway Mizell. Mrs. Rigsbee was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Junior Rigsbee; brothers, James Mizell, Julius Conway; and grandson, Lane Rigsbee.
Mrs. Rigsbee is survived by her sons, Carl and wife, Rhonda Rigsbee and Jerry and wife, Bonnie Rigsbee; grandchildren, Lee, Justin, and Cassie Rigsbee, Melanie Ennis, Erin Long, Dusty Stone, Brandi Zivica; great grandchildren, Tyler Rigsbee, Nero Davis, Jacob and Tyler Zivica, Ava and Bella Stone, Lindsay Long, Courtney Gibson; sisters, Mary Ellen Allen, Barbara Jean Howard; and brothers, Eddie and Bobby Mizell.
Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at Clements Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Maplewood Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Mitchner officiating.

Frances Neville Maddox
MEBANE — Mrs. Frances Neville Maddox, 89, of 1219 South Fifth Street, Mebane, NC, passed at her residence at 2:44 p.m.  Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Born in Durham County, NC, she was the wife of the late Dace Maddox and the daughter of the late Charlie Newt Neville and Jessie Turner Neville. She was a member of the Agape Baptist Church of Mebane.
Surviving her are two daughters, Linda Maddox Baugus of Mebane, Deborah Maddox Baker and husband, Richard, of Mebane; grandchildren, Kelly Baker, Hope Powell and husband, Nick, Rebekah Baugus; and her special caregiver, Gifty Selby.
The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m.; other times at the residence.
A Service of Celebration for a life well lived will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Agape Baptist Church with the Dr. John Cornett and Mike Massey officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane, NC.

Marvin Lee Holt
HILLSBOROUGH — Marvin Lee Holt, age 78, son of the late Joe and Pauline Durham Holt, died April 16, 2013 in Rose Manor  Rehabilitation of Durham, NC.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. today in Chavis-Parker Funeral Home Chapel. Family visitation one hour before the funeral.
He is survived by Mark Holt (Bevon) and Heather Holt; eight grandchildren.

Bruce William Street
TIMBERLAKE - Mr. Bruce William Street, 82, of Timberlake, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.
He was the son of the late James Newton Street and Lillian Blalock Street. He served in the Korean War. He retired from Sperry Rand. He was a member of Somerset Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Hazel Street Blackwood, Evelyn Nichols; and brother, James Bernice Street.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Walker Street; one daughter, Janice Street Ellis (Billy); one grandson, Taylor William Ellis; sister, Trenis Street Bennett (Harold); and a brother, Rev. Thomas Street (Jeanette).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
