Nathaniel A. Bullock
DURHAM — Nathaniel A. Bullock, 68, departed his life on April 15, 2013. 
He leaves behind his dear wife, Emma Bullock; two daughters; four sons; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of close family and friends. 
The viewing will be held at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m.


Aggie Nora Jones Daniels
DURHAM — Mrs. Aggie Nora Jones Daniels, 92, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Brian Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Her service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Burthey Funeral Chapel, 1510 Fayetteville St. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the chapel on Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Eugene Hayes
DURHAM — Eugene Hayes departed this life on April 11, 2013, with loving daughter, Heather Marie Hayes. Life time resident of Durham, NC, he married August 30, 1972 to Doris Johnston Walker. Eugene Hayes graduated from Hillside High School and went to the military (Fort Jackson, SC, 101st Airborne Division). He was Honorably Discharged on August 21, 1957. Eugene Hayes was a teacher and coach at Bragtown School. In addition, he worked as a part time Banquet Captain at Croasdaile Country Club and Sheraton Imperial Inn. "Uncle Gene" was an avid golfer and a member who held several positions in Bull City Golf Club. Eugene Hayes worked with the Parks and Recreation of Durham and long time Field Manager of the Long Meadow Baseball Teams. He taught and retired from Wright School in 1996.
We honor and cherish his memory: a daughter, Heather Marie Hayes; a wife, Doris Johnston Hayes; several nieces: Valerie, Genevieve, Beryl, Marrissa; nephews: Stephen and Michael; and a host of relatives and family friends.
His funeral will held at Community Baptist Church, 4821 Barbee Road, Durham, NC on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 12 noon with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. until 12 noon.
Services are entrusted to Scarborough & Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.


Fred McClinton
DURHAM — Fred McClinton, age 71, son of the late Redell and Elvira Holt McClinton, died at home April 14, 2013.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wings of Eagles Church in Durham. Visitation, 30 minutes prior to the service.
Fred retired from DOT in Orange County, graduated 1961 from Central High School, and worked 10 years at Hillcrest Nursing Facility.
His survivors are daughter, Vivian McClinton; three grandchildren, two sisters, Lola McClinton and Willie Mae Turrentine; and two brothers, Roy Lee McClinton and Redell McClinton.
Visitation, 7 to 8 p.m. this evening in Chavis-Parker Funeral Home. Public viewing, Wed. 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

GRANVILLE
Helen O’Briant Lynn
CREEDMOOR — Helen O’Briant Lynn, 76, of 206 Helen Street, passed away on April 15th, 2013 at the Duke Hospice Inpatient facility at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.
Helen was the youngest child of the late L.J. (Jack) O’Briant and Malissa Wilson O’Briant. She was born on August 17, 1936 in Wake County at Sandy Plains and lived most of her life in Creedmoor.
Surviving is her husband of 29 years, Roy Lynn of the home; two sons: Billy Turner Jr. (Terri) of Rougemont, Michael O. Turner (Gail) of Creedmoor; and three step children: Dianne Lynn, Pam Cross, and Mike Lynn. 
Helen is also survived by two sisters, Lena Belle Freeman (Johnnie), Elaine O’Briant Cash (Ronald) of Creedmoor, 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Teddy Turner; a granddaughter, Holly Turner; and a great-granddaughter, KayLeigh Bowen.
Helen loved to bake, cook, sew, crochet and can vegetables out of her garden during her life-time. Most of all she enjoyed times spent with her family. She was a former member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a former employee of Bob’s Bar-B-Q, where she met many people and served them all with good food and a smile. 
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, April 18 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor, by the Rev. Wes McMurray. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 until 2 p.m. with the service immediately following. Burial will be in the O’Briant family plot in the old Creedmoor Cemetery on Hwy 56 in Creedmoor, NC. Pallbearers will be Chris Turner, Bryan Turner, Rusty Corley, Johnnie Wayne Freeman, Ronald Cash Jr., and Trey Flamion.  
The family is thankful for the thoughtful care and compassion provided by doctors and staff at Duke University Hospital, Hillcrest Convalescent Center and the Hock Family Pavilion. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Helen Lynn at the Granville County Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.

Cynthia Marie Averitt
APEX - Ms. Cynthia Marie Averitt, 37, of 4721 Banview Lane, died on Sunday, April 14, 2013.
Ms. Averitt was born in Durham. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Huntsberry.
She is survived by her father, Kenny Averitt of Apex; son, Dale; and daughter, Melissa; brother, Chris Averitt (Janie) of Kittrell; and a sister, Cheryl Huntsberry of Wilmington.

Doris Evelyn Albright Perry
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Doris Evelyn Albright Perry, of Englewood, NJ, died Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013, at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (N.J.). Doris was born April 30, 1926 in Durham, NC, the sixth of seven children born to the late Robert Lindsay and Martha Maude Roundtree Albright. Doris was married to Walter Perry who preceded her in death on December 8, 1980.  She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: four brothers, Joseph, Robert Jr., Edward Ralph, and Donald Wayne Albright and two sisters, Edna Albright Lambeth, and Georgia Albright Griffin.
Graduating from Hillside High School in Durham, NC in 1944, she attended Virginia State University, and she worked as a clerk in the Ordinary Insurance Dept. at North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company until her marriage in 1959. She relocated to Brooklyn, NY and later to Englewood NJ. She retired from the Teaneck (NJ) Public Library in 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Daphne D. Perry, Vineland NJ and Stephanie D. Perry, Englewood, NJ; and two grandsons, Keith and Kenneth Perry of New Jersey. She is also survived by two stepchildren: Kenneth Barbee and Elaine Perry Thorpe of Durham; two nieces: Beryl Elaine Lambeth Coley, Washington, DC and Patricia Griffin Covas, Hampton, VA; and three nephews: Perry E. Lambeth, Hopewell Junction, NY, Dr. Robert L. Albright, Locust Grove, GA, and James M. Griffin Jr., Hampton, VA; as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Doris also leaves to mourn, a childhood friend, Bobby Tate Wicks, formerly of Durham, Julia Spencer, Durham and many neighbors and friends in New Jersey.
