Ruth Duke Rigsbee
DURHAM — Mrs. Ruth Duke Rigsbee, 80, of Durham, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013.
Mrs. Rigsbee was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late William Bush Duke and Geneva Ellis Duke. She was a homemaker and made everyone feel at home when they were at Goose’s house. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tonya Bryant; and great-granddaughter, Hayley Bryant; and brother, Harold Duke.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Rigsbee; daughters, Rhonda Blalock Worley (Ricky) of Orange County and Jan M. Markham of Durham; sisters, Annie  Riley of Durham, Juanita Latta of Person County; two granddaughters, Lauren Markham, Megan Clayton; great-grandson, Kameron Bryant; and several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com

Florence Lee Hopkins
CHAPEL HILL — Florence Lee Hopkins, 83, of 2003 Neville Rd., Chapel Hill, N.C., died April 9, 2013 at Duke Medical Center, Durham, N.C.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Terrell's Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Chapel Hill. Rev. Alvin Jones will do the Eulogy and Rev. Claude Dunston will be officiating. Interment will be held at Terrell's Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 14, 2013 at church from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
