James Adams

DURHAM — Funeral services for James Adams will be held Wednesday May 14th at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 2420 S. Roxboro St.. The family visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Mr. Adams, was a Hillside High School graduate, that had lived in New York for several years.
Survivors include: daughter, Sandra A. Haynes; granddaughter, Daphne Adams, other relatives including niece, Faye McRae Rae; nephew, Fred Adams; sisters, Pattie M. Adams, Dorothy Adams and Catherine A. McRae, who preceded him in death.

Doris G. Lane
DURHAM — Doris G. Lane, 77, of Durham, passed after a prolonged illness. Born in Durham County, Ms. Lane was the daughter of the late John Wesley Bragg and Bettie Lee Glenn Bragg. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Griffin; and a brother, Elbert Bragg.
Ms. Lane is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Warren and husband Jerry, and Bonnie Mulchi; two brothers, Clifton Bragg and Jerry Bragg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home, Durham, with Angel Yauchzee officiating. A private burial will follow the funeral service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 to 11 A.M. at Clements Funeral Home, Durham.

Estelle Margaret Hall

HILLSBOROUGH — Mrs. Estelle Margaret Hall, 80, resident of Hillsborough, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was born in Orange Co., NC, the daughter of the late Pearl Shambley Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hall. Mrs. Hall was a member of Hillsborough Church of God.
Surviving are her daughter, Jane Ray of Efland, two sons, James Hall, Jr. of Mebane and John Hall of Rougemont; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday 2 PM at Hillsborough Church of God with Pastor Dale Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12 – 2 PM at Hillsborough Church of God.

Sherrie Lynn Mooney
CHAPEL HILL — Sherrie Lynn Mooney went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 9, 2014. She is survived by her wonderful loving husband of 21 years Jeff Mooney. Sister Lucy and husband Skippy Godfrey, sister Jenny and husband Bill Golat, brother Bobby and wife Tamar Horton, brother Tom and Karen Godwin, brother in-law Preston Mooney, sister in-law Vicki and husband Mike Holleman, and father in-law Andy Mooney. She was preceded in her death by her parents, Brodie and Norma Horton, and mother in-law Alice Mooney.
Sherrie was adored by her three nephews and two nieces. Ryan and wife Tammy Holleman, Chase Holleman and Christian Holleman and fiancé Kamile Smith, Anna and Husband Daniel Corbin, and Amy Godwin. As well as, four great nieces Karli Holleman, Emma Corbin, Lane Corbin, and Harper Corbin
Sherrie was born August 22nd 1959, in Chatham County. She grew up in the Pittsboro and Chapel Hill Community. She graduated from Northwood High School. Sherrie had worked for the Orange Sherriff’s Department and University of North Carolina. Sherrie retired from UNC Hospital of Chapel Hill.
Sherrie had spent more than 20 years volunteering in Emergency Services in Orange and Chatham County. She was a former member of Chatham County Rescue Squad, Orange County Rescue Squad and current member of the White Cross Vol. Fire Department in Chapel Hill NC.
Aside from her deviation to her family, Sherrie loved helping people old and young. Sherrie was part of raising and caring for a countless number of children and was a mother to so many.
Arrangements for Sherrie Mooney; visitation will be at Antioch Baptist Church Tuesday May 13th from 6-8 pm located 1707 White Cross Road in Chapel Hill NC 27516. Celebration of her life will be Wednesday May 14th at 11am at Antioch Baptist Church located 1707 White Cross Road in Chapel Hill NC, 27516.
The family will graciously accept flowers or donations made in Sherrie’s name to Susan B. Coleman Fund, Antioch Baptist Church or White Cross Fire Department.
