Veronica Yvonne "Ronnie" Amos
DURHAM — Veronica Yvonne "Ronnie" Amos, 62, departed her life on June 7, 2013. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Theodore Amos; her mother, Mary E. Christie and pre-deceased by her father, Willie L. Stinson; her son; two daughters; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers; five sisters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15 at New Life Christian Center at 12 p.m. Visitation begins at 11 a.m.

Joshua Frank Smedley
DURHAM — Joshua Frank Smedley, 3 months, suddenly yet peacefully departed this earth to enter Heaven on June 10, 2013. Born March 2nd, 2013, Josh spent his three short months here on earth loved by so many. His sweet demeanor, inquisitive eyes and bright smile warmed our hearts. Joshua loved sitting on Daddy’s lap at the dinner table and cuddling with Mommy. He enjoyed watching his siblings play and talk and loved being held by them. He brought so much joy to our family.
In addition to his parents, James and Kelly Smedley, III of Durham, he is survived by his brothers, Jake and Ben; and his sister, Leah. He is survived by his paternal grandparents, James and Becky Smedley, Jr. of Newark, DE; maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Konwinski of Newark, DE; maternal aunt, Laura (Matthew) Gibson of Cary, NC; paternal aunt, Rachel (Dean) Macko of Morrison, CO; maternal aunt, Shannon (Kevin) Topple of Bermuda. Joshua is also survived by his cousins, Aiden, Tyler, and Ryan; as well as several loving great aunts and uncles and great grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Lawrence Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.

Mary Evans Yancey
DURHAM - Mrs. Mary Evans Yancey, 94, passed away on June 9, 2013. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her sons, Clayborne, Darnell, Charles and Clinton Yancey; one sister, Musella E. Curtis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m.

Malloy Daniel McKinney
BURLINGTON — Mr. Malloy Daniel McKinney, 94, of Burlington died at his residence on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 8:40 p.m.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Berthalene Ward McKinney, who survives and the son of John Allen McKinney and Minnie Alice Rudd McKinney, both deceased. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Malloy retired as a District Manager from Bamby Bakery, Inc. After retirement, he worked as a courier for Byrd’s Food Stores Inc. and as a courier for what is now known as Capitol Bank. He was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church and former member of Northside Presbyterian Church. While at Northside Presbyterian Church, he sang in the choir and was an Elder and a Deacon. Malloy was a member of the Burlington Lion’s Club, having served as “Tail Twister” for many years.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a daughter, Sandra McKinney Harris and husband, Gwyn of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; son, Danny McKinney and wife, Holly of Durham; sister, Pauline Minor Murray of Elon; brother, Hassel McKinney of Burlington; four grandchildren, Ryan Harris and wife, Erin of Roanoke, VA, Marc Harris and wife, Jane of Saunderstown, RI, Jordan McKinney and Lauren McKinney, both of Durham; and four great grandchildren, Mason and MacKenzie Harris of Roanoke, VA and Elena and Jude Harris of Saunderstown, RI.
The funeral was conducted at Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. by Rev. Carl Parsons. Burial followed in Alamance Memorial Park. The body was taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie in state.
The family received friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The family requests that the Burlington Lions Club be honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Angie, Melissa and Phoebe of Hospice for their compassionate care and concern.

Brenda Ann Parker Smith
GRAHAM – Mrs. Brenda Ann Parker Smith, 65, of 1949 Briar Lane, Graham, died at her residence on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 12:30 a.m.
A native of Person County, she was the wife of the late Ervin Nelson Smith and the daughter of Lucille C. Parker, who survives.  She was a retired maintenance worker.
In addition to her mother of Mebane, survivors include two sons, Leif Erexson and wife, Donna, of Creedmoor and Michael Erexson and wife, Sharon, of Graham; two grandchildren, Christina and Haley Erexson, both of Creedmoor; great-grandchild, Cayden Lee Currie of Creedmoor; brother, Ricky Parker and wife, Debbie, of Chapel Hill; sister, Betty Wilson and husband, Johnny, of Chapel Hill; and niece, Amber Parker of Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. by Rev. Ken Forehand with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
