Juliette Elaine Cooper
DURHAM - Mrs. Juliette Elaine Cooper, of 910 Willowdale Drive, age 75, passed on June 10, 2013.
She is survived by her husband, Kirby C. Cooper; daughter, Donna Cooper; brothers, Alonza "Fuller" Thompson and Julius "Sugie" Thompson; sisters, Vermelle T. Byrd and Irene White; one granddaughter, Diondra Cooper.
Services have been planned for Saturday, June 15, 2013 at one o'clock p.m. at Northeast Baptist Church. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Scarborough and Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.
Michael Kevin (Kev) Fowler
DURHAM — God called home to rest Michael Kevin (Kev) Fowler on June 8, 2013. Kev was born July 17, 1969 to Wilbert Sr & Shirley Fowler who preceded in his death. Kev attended Durham Public Schools but resided in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He leaves to mourn his wife Lydia, of the home; one son Michael Jr., of Durham; one granddaughter; 4 brothers, Wilbert Jr (Linda), Deric (Mary), Kenneth (Sarah), and Roger (Fontella); one sister Pamela (Artinus), of Durham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held June 14th from 3 to 9 p.m. at 54 Ponce Funeral Home on Thompkins Ave in Brooklyn, N.Y.
William Bernard Jones
DURHAM - William Bernard Jones passed Friday, June 7th, 2013, at his home, 910 W. Trinity St.
A memorial service will be Thursday, the 13th, 2013.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Services will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Scarborough & Hargett Memorial Chapel, 923-B Old Fayetteville St. (Hayti).
Shirley B. McFarling
DURHAM — Mrs. Shirley B. McFarling, 81, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Duke Medical Center. She was born in Durham County on February 10, 1932 to the late Marvin and Lilly Blackwood. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. McFarling was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield and was a member of Guess Road Baptist Church.
Mrs. McFarling is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bobby McFarling; daughters, Margo Knight of Asheville, Leanne Minton of Tampa, FL; son, Marty McFarling of Greensboro. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 13th at 11 a.m. at Guess Road Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Tilley and Rev. Mitchell Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Geraldine Clegg Peace
DURHAM - Funeral services for Ms. Geraldine Clegg Peace, 58, of Durham, NC, will be conducted on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Antioch Baptist Church, and the interment will follow in the Glennview Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with their friends one hour before the funeral service. Survivors are three sons, Mr. Morris Clegg (Sheila), Mr. Vance Clegg, Mr. Aaron Clegg; one daughter, Ms. Jasmine Peace; one brother, Mr. Tommy Clegg; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine McNeil, Ms. Deloris Lee; two uncles, Mr. Paul Hart (Willie Mae), Mr. Tyrone Whitley; 10 grandchildren, and her mother, Ms. Veola Clegg and a host of other relatives and friends.

Paul Edward Wilder
DURHAM - Paul Edward Wilder, 48, died Monday afternoon in Durham Regional Hospital. A native of Hertford County, he moved to Durham as a child.
He had resided in the Carpenter Fletcher Road Group Home for the past 25 years where he was happy and a friend to all.
He attended Yates Baptist Church was active in Rainbow 66, loved to dance and was Durham Bull's fan. He was a Duke fan but could pull for Carolina if Duke was not playing. He was a good soul who loved animals.
Surviving are his mother, Margaret Taylor Wilder of Durham, several uncles and aunts, several cousins and his brothers in his group home. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Hunter Wilder; and a sister, Melissa Ann Wilder.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. John Frederick.
The family will receive visitor at Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
