Clara Ruth Perry
DURHAM — Mrs. Clara Ruth Perry, 90, of Durham, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late James Offie Clements and Blanche Beavers Clements. She retired from the American Tobacco Company after 42 years. She was a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Skylar Wilkins; two brothers, James Linwood Clements and Winfred Clements; three sisters, Alma C. Sorrell, Olivia C. Mason and Madeline C. Marks.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Barry Perry Sr. (Frances); three grandchildren, Heather P. Higgins (Michael), Thomas Barry Perry Jr., and Misty Perry; five great grandchildren, Hayden Perry, Makenzie Perry, Hunter Higgins, Austin Perry, and Alexis Higgins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ed Denton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Sammy Marks, Jason Marks, Kenny Broadwell, Josh Broadwell, Ken Broadwell, Aaron Edgley and Larry Clements.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Barry and Frances Perry, 208 N. Adams Street in Durham.

Anthony Eric Williams
BURLINGTON — Mr. Anthony Eric Williams, 33, of 4576 Sartin Road, Burlington, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
Born in Mentor, OH, he was the son of Kenneth and Cheryl Williams of Burlington. Other survivors include a paternal grandmother, Helen Williams of Burlington; sisters, Melissa Toper and husband, Matthew, and their daughters, Evidah and Larkin of Graham and Christine Williams of Chapel Hill; and brother, Randall Pundzus of Maple Grove, MN.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Carl Plotz and Dorothy Schmidt; and paternal grandfather, Arthur E. “Sparky” Williams.
A private service will be held at a later date.

Margaret Ann Noel Edwards
CHAPEL HILL — Margaret Ann Noel Edwards was born February 16, 1942 and she departed this life on September 24, 2013. She was born to the late Dixie and Lela Williams Noel.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters: Terrina Renee Edwards-Craig, Benita Edwards, Sandra Edwards, Sonya Edwards-Watson and Lisa Marie Edwards-Poulson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister; and a host of relatives.
Her services will be Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the services will be at 1:30 p.m.
Mildred "Kookie" McNeil Harris
HILLSBOROUGH — Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred "Kookie" McNeil Harris will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cain's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2001 St. Mary's Rd. Family visitation: one hour before service. A native of Durham, she was the daughter of late Thomas McNeil Sr. and Ethel N. McNeil. She was a 1963 graduate of Merrick-Moore High School and attended North Carolina Central University. She had been employed at Durham Drapery, GTE and Krogers. Survivors include: husband, Wayne Harris; son Darrell "Heavy" Harris (Marcia); brother, Thomas McNeil Jr.; sister, Patricia M. Farrington (Walter); five grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Bethea (Pastor James Bethea); aunt, Sylvia Calamese; special niece (daughter), Sonya McNeil; special nephew (son), Tracy McNeil (Annie).
Public Viewing Saturday from 12 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Parlor.
Alice Pixley Clayton
TIMBERLAKE — Alice Pixley Clayton, age 92, formerly of Pixley Prichard Road died September 25, 2013 at the Roxboro Health Care and Rehab Center in Roxboro.
Born the daughter of W. Clark and Minnie Moore Pixley. She was the wife of the late J. Coy Clayton.
Surviving are two daughters, Patsy Roberson and Janice Clayton (Lynwood); five grandchildren, Dawn Wilkerson, Ken Roberson, Darryl and Jeff Clayton and Devon Metcalf; and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Brooks & White Funeral Home, with the visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m.
