Sandra McKinnie Blanding
DURHAM - Mrs. Sandra McKinnie Blanding, 70, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Duke Regional Hospital. Her service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Kyles Temple AME Zion Church, 409 Dunstan Ave. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m., one hour prior to the service.

Hattie Pearl Alston Brodie
DURHAM - Hattie Pearl Alston Brodie, 79, departed this life on October 21, 2013. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Arthur L. Brodie; her children, Valerie G. Brodie, Sidney A. Brodie, Robert A. Brodie, Leonard W. Brodie, Michael D. Brodie and Donna Brodie Kidd; grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, God-children and many friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, 801 Colfax St., Durham, NC at 1 p.m., with visitation at 12 noon.

Mary “Elaine” DeLong Kelly
DURHAM - Mary “Elaine” DeLong Kelly, 61, of Durham died on Monday, October 21, 2013. She was the daughter of Ramona Allen DeLong and the late John Guy DeLong. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Elaine loved and adored her three grandchildren. Elaine graduated from Southern High School in 1970. She retired from Verizon with 31 years of service, attended Bethesda Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Ramona Allen DeLong; her husband of 43 years, Michael Ray Kelly; one son, Brad Ray Kelly; one daughter, Amy Kelly Schroeder and husband, Mark, and their three children, Maddison, Caleb and Grayson; three brothers, Guy Randall DeLong, John Deryl DeLong and wife, Becky, and James Stanley DeLong; one aunt, Martha Jane Allen and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Greg Allison will officiate. Burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mike and Elaine Kelly. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.


James Glenwood S. Moore
DURHAM — Funeral service for James Glenwood S. Moore will be held Saturday at 12 noon at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 8021 Stagville Rd., Bahama, NC. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Son of the late George Milton Moore and the late Georianna Hayes Moore, he was born September 22, 1937 in Durham County. He received his education in the Durham County School System.
He died at Brian Center on October 20, 2013.
His brother George Moore preceded him in death.
Survivors: sister, Virtee Moore Glenn; sister-in-law, Edith J. Moore; nieces, Sandra Moore, Cheryl B. Glenn; nephews, George Thomas Moore (Lisa); great nieces, great nephews, extended family; three sisters, Patricia Holeman Johnson, Carolyn K. Robinson, Aletha Cates. 
Public viewing today and Friday from 12 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Parlor.

Danny Lin White
CREEDMOOR — Danny Lin White, 52, a longtime resident of Butner, passed away October 18, 2013 in a car accident.
A native of Granville County, he was the son of Billy Ray and the late Sarah Wilkins White. Surviving are his son, Shawn White of Wake Forest; his father, Billy Ray White and his wife, Joyce M. White of Butner; and a special aunt, Frances Blackley of Butner.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary in Butner, NC.

Thomas Ellison Faison
CHAPEL HILL - Thomas Ellison Faison, 85, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at UNC Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his two children, Elizabeth Faison and Thomas I. Faison; Thomas’ wife, Jolee, and their children, Joseph, Cody, Kristina, Amber and Crystal. He is also survived by his brother, William A. Faison Jr. of Chicago, IL; and his sister, Sara Faison Hart of Daytona Beach, FL.; and by Angus McFang.
A memorial service will be held at Church of the Holy Family Episcopal in Chapel Hill on Friday at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Durham Rescue Mission or to the North Carolina Food Bank.

HILLSBOROUGH — Hattie Hope Thompson, age 86, died October 22, 2013 at Roxboro Nursing Facility.
The funeral will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Chavis-Parker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hillsborough Town Cemetery. 
Visitation will be Friday, 1:15 to 2, at Chavis-Parker Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors are one daughter, Barbara Jean Stevenson of Hillsborough, NC; one son, Leroy Hope (Frances) of Graham, NC; grandchildren, Eddie Stevenson, Anthony Stevenson, Boris Richmond, April Thorpe and Frances Stevenson.
Public Viewing will be Thursday, 12 p.m. to 6.
