DURHAM — Donald Gray, 65, departed his life on June 24, 2014 at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC.
He leaves behind three children, two sons, and a daughter; two sisters, Rita Gray, Mary Jo Allen, one brother, Wayne Gray, all of Richmond, VA; one niece, Benita, three great-nephews, two great-nieces of Richmond, and four cousins of Portsmouth, VA.

Josephine Hawley Thompson
DURHAM — After 101 years, Jo went home to live with her Lord and Savior. She was raised and lived on Broad Street in West Durham until she moved to Apex to live with her son and daughter-in-law for the past 11 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, Walter and Martha Hawley, and her husband, James C. Thompson.
Surviving are her three children, James C. Thompson, Jr. (Joan), Kitty Stephens, and Marvin Thompson (Ann). She was an adored “Mama” to her grandchildren, Joni Pierce (Jim), Jan Meghdadi (Babi), Jim, Jeff, Donald, Michael (Tracy), Bobby (Amy) Thompson; six great-grandchildren. Also two nephews, Russell Rogers and Tom Weaver.
A graveside service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery. Family will receive friends immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be given to Transitions Hospice, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Rita L. Coffin Williams
DURHAM — Rita L. Coffin Williams (Muffie), 48, departed her life on June 25, 2014.
She is survived by her husband Orville Williams Jr., mother Mary L. Coffin, four sons, one brother, four aunts and a host of cousins and friends.
Services will be Monday, June 30, 2014, at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, funeral services at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12:00 noon.

Edith Yates Tilley Keith
HILLSBOROUGH — Ms. Edith Yates Tilley Keith, 83, passed away Friday evening at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. Ms. Keith was born in Orange County, the daughter of the late Benjamin Yates and Mamie Yates. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Lacy Tilley and Harold “Pop” Keith.
She lived all her life in Hillsborough where she became a successful business woman with Keith’s Heating and Air Conditioning Co.
Ms. Keith is survived by her daughter, Brenda Dees and husband, Malcolm; three sons, Keith Tilley and wife, Carol, William Keith, Jr. and wife, Cynthia, and Arthur Keith and wife, Harriet; a brother, James Yates and wife, Barbara,; a sister, Frances Clark; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, June 30, at Clements Funeral Chapel in Hillsborough. Burial will follow at Palmer’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3-5pm at Clements Funeral Home in Hillsborough.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Palmer’s Grove United Methodist Church, 1211 Palmer’s Grove Church Rd., Hillsborough NC 27278.

Karl “K.K.” Allen
HAMPTON, Va. — Karl “K.K.” Allen, 93, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Sentara Hospital in Hampton, VA. He was born in Richmond, VA to the late Karl K. Allen, Sr. and the late Clara Stambaugh Allen. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Margaret Gupton Allen and Essie Mae Allen; daughters, Sammie Allen Batchelor and Elizabeth Allen Miller. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served during World War II. He was a retired Tax Assessor from the Durham County Tax Administration Office and former member of the Mt. Sylvan Ruritan Club.
Mr. Allen is survived by his son, Karl K. Allen, III of Battery Park, VA; grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Allen, Karl Benjamin Allen, Michelle Stephenson Corriveau, David Stephenson, Douglas Miller, and Amy Miller Lamb.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, 12:30PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
Honorary casket bearers will be Rodney Whitaker, Arnold Rigsbee, Philip Copeland, Bennie Andrews, S. Bruce Mangum, and Harold Bizzell.
Timothy Anderson Dash, III
ATLANTA — Timothy Anderson "Tim" Dash, III, husband, father, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend--known primarily to the Atlanta community for his campaign to eliminate gang violence, with his work through Visions Unlimited, died suddenly, Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014. Tim made his transition to be with the Lord doing what he loved best, spending quality time with his children. He leaves to cherish the moments of this life, his wife, Twonna Grier Dash; four children, Jermond Laquel, 31, Amirah Zakiah, 12, Aniyah Estella, 7, and Peyton Elise, 5; sister, Tami Dash Corkern (Steve) of Sugar Hill, GA; parents, Timothy A. Dash, Jr. (Levell) of Durham, NC and Gloria Dash Mckinney (Clifton) of Atlanta, GA.; siblings, Damon Dash (Tracy), Britney Dash, Rico Quick (Tamarsha), Durham, NC, Ursula McKinney, L. J. Smith, Ernest McKinney, Atlanta, GA; parents-in-law, Frank and Estella Stinson; along with a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, 12 noon, at Israel Baptist Church, 2071 Hosea L Williams Drive, SE, Atlanta, GA 30317. Instate 11 AM. Our color for this service is Blue, in honor of Tim.
