DURHAM - Mrs. Julia Ivey, 81, died after a brief illness Tuesday morning, August 27, 2013 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was born in Harnett Co, the daughter of the late Ernst Franklin Tart and the late Ida Pearl Moore Tart. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Burlington Industries. Mrs. Ivey was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church and the Bullock Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Ivey.
Mrs. Ivey is survived by her daughters, Janet Greene and husband, Mike, and Pat Mosley and husband, James; grandchildren, Justin Mosley and wife, Devin, and Haley Mosley.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 3 p.m. at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil Nolen officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church.
Graveside service will be held Friday 3 p.m. at Hodges Chapel Church Cemetery, Benson, NC. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home, Dunn, NC.

DURHAM - Sue King, 91, departed her life on August 22, 2013. She is survived by a very special niece, Viola Cunningham; a special nephew, Jay Richburg; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Ms. Della Wollen and Ms. Anita Linton and their families.
Service will be held at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 1 p.m. with visitation at 12 noon.
Robert Agner Lutz
DURHAM — Mr. Robert Agner Lutz, age 76, died at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, North Carolina, on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
He was born on November 3, 1936 in Durham, to the late Margaret and Worth A. Lutz, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Wrenn Lutz and their four daughters: Kathryn Hendricksen, her husband, Guy and their two daughters, Laurel and Jordan; Alyson Butts, her husband, Larry and their two daughters, Liza and Madelyn; Lindsay Farley and her children, Alex, Micaela, Austin, Moriah, Maclaine and Asher; Parker Lutz, her husband, Tim Thomas and their two children, Wrenn and Poppy.
He is also survived by his brother, Worth A. Lutz Jr. and his wife, Liz.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3639 Old Chapel Hill Road, Durham, North Carolina.

DURHAM — Hannah Roberson departed her life on August 25, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters; Deborah Bullock, Donna Yancey; four grandchildren, one sister, one brother, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Raphnel “Ray” Staples
GRAHAM — Mr. Raphnel “Ray” Staples, 85, of Graham, NC, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Duke Medical Center. Ray was born on January 17, 1928 in Winchester, MA.
He was the husband of the late Anniemay Mudie Staples and the son of Malcolm Lewis Staples and Margaret Nickerson Staples, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Faith Ellen Staples Regenthal; and his sister, Natalie Clara Little.
Ray was a retired senior technical illustrator from AT&T after 33 years of service. He moved to North Carolina from Maine in January 1956. He was a member of the Pioneers. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Coast Guard from 1946 to 1948. He was a Red Sox fan since 1941, Ted Williams’ big year, and also a Duke fan. He attended the Burlington Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his sons, Raphnel Forest Staples Jr. (Robin) of Lake Norman, NC and Malcolm John Staples (John Patrick Carver) of Durham, NC; four grandsons, Kenneth Regenthal (Gina) of Lewisville, NC, John Regenthal of Lewisville, NC, Mathew Staples (Kendall) of Charlotte, NC and Michael Staples (Laura) of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Grace and Ian Regenthal. Sophia Staples is due in October.
He leaves behind his best friend of over 11 years, Nancy Euliss; and her family: son, Joey J. Euliss (Missy) and children, Alex Euliss and Michael Euliss, all of Gibsonville, NC.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington, NC by Rev. Howard Thompson with the family receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow.

Kay Wiley Ferguson
LOUISBURG — Kay Wiley Ferguson, 58, of Louisburg died Monday, August 26, 2013 at her home. Born September 19, 1954 to the late Morris and Francis Guthrie Wiley. Also her brother, Jim Wiley preceded her in death. She graduated from Watts School of Nursing and was a RN at Murdoch Center. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She also loved to shag where she was a member of Wake Forest Shag Club and she also enjoyed the lake. She was a loving dedicated mother and grandmother and she was a cheerleader for her family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Wake Forest United Methodist Church with Rev. Kellie Gallagher-Smith and Rev. Darren Smart officiating.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Brad Ferguson; her son, Joe Ferguson and his wife, Heather of Louisburg; her daughter, Beth Champion and her husband, Chad of Youngsville; and her grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor and Madelyn Ferguson, Will and Carson Champion.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Ministry Center.
