Ronald Dale Cook
DURHAM — Mr. Ronald Dale Cook, age 66, died at his home on Monday, August 12, 2013, after a period of declining health. Mr. Cook was a native of Cabarrus County but had lived in Durham most of his life. He was the son of the late William Dorsey Cook and Margaret Inez Lowder Cook. Mr. Cook worked at A&P Grocery and Lowe’s Foods for most of his life.
He is survived by three brothers, O’Neal Cook of Durham, Donnie Cook of Hillsborough and Scott Cook of Durham; two sisters, Glenda Cook and Debbie Cook both of Creedmoor; 11 nieces and nephews and one very special friend who was like a sister, Terry Kelly of Durham. He was predeceased by a sister, June Powell and a brother, Roger Cook.
The family was assisted by American Cremation Services and no service is planned at this time.
Roger O’Dell Dolinger
DURHAM - Roger O’Dell Dolinger, 66, of 6089 Zachary Lane, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013.
Mr. Dolinger was born in Smythe County, Virginia, to the late Glen O’Dell Dolinger and Aggie Belle Eller Dolinger. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired from Duke Regional Hospital in Telecommunications. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nola Ann Dolinger.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina Elaine MacCrae and Cheryl Lynn Dolinger; two sisters, Connie White, Alice Vaughan and two grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in South Granville Memorial Gardens.

Olivia Roberts Harris
Rougemont — Olivia Roberts Harris 77 of 1526 Bacon Road, died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her home. Born in Orange County daughter of the late Charlie Roberts & Ida Carden Roberts, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Parrish Roberts & Milton Roberts, one sister Lois Gregory. Mrs.
Harris retired from Ligget-Myers and a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of over fifty-four years William "PeeWee" Harris of the home, four children Rafael Dawson & wife Susan of Virginia Beach, Va., Ricky Dawson of Rougemont, Darrell Harris of Rougemont, Dee Dee Woods & husband Brad of Rougemont, one brother Oliver Roberts of Hillsborough, one sister Jackie Barnes of Richmond, Va., seven grandchildren Derek Dawson, Chase Dawson, Kayla Harris, Brandy Dawson, Chandler Woods, Elliott Woods & Riley Woods.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at New Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ryan Ford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 19, 2013 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Harris, Charlie Collins, Tony Gentry, David Harris, David Woods, Derek Dawson, Tink Jeffries & Marion Miller.

Margaret McCullers Hornbuckle
DURHAM — Margaret McCullers Hornbuckle, 91, died at home on Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was born on November 8, 1921 in Broadnax, Virginia to the late Noel Henry McCullers and Lois Gertrude Weathers McCullers. Margaret was a long time member of Union Grove United Methodist Church in Bahama, where she taught Sunday school and was active in many church circles. She was one of the original staff members of Mt. Sylvan United Methodist Preschool and daycare. She was a receptionist for many years at Reliance Insurance Company and Gray Bar Electric. Margaret was a very happy lady who enjoyed reading books, bird watching, and having a good conversation with family and friends. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Charles Hornbuckle Jr., two sisters, Virginia Straughan and Dorothy Ross, two brothers, Bill and Spoogie McCullers.
Surviving are: two sons, Paul E. Hornbuckle and wife, Ivey of Rougemont and Jerry Hornbuckle of Durham; a grandson, Paul E. Hornbuckle Jr. and wife, Amber of Mississippi; a great-grandson, Paul E. ‘Tripp”Hornbuckle III; a sister, Clara M. Murray of Durham.
The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St. Durham, where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
