Magerea Morrison Glenn

DURHAM – Mrs. Magerea Morrison Glenn, 92, of Durham passed away peacefully Monday, December 31, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Elijah Milton Morrison and Missouri McKeller. Magerea was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Benjamin Glenn Sr.
After 32 years of service, she retired from Duke University Medical Center, Department of OB/GYN Medicine Clinic.
Survivors include sons, Andrew Benjamin Glenn Jr. (Sharon) of Richmond, Va., and William Milton Glenn of Durham; daughter, Dr. Cecilia Jnea’ Glenn (B. Gerald Murfree) of Hillsborough; sisters, Mary Louise Morrison of Durham and Julia E. Morrison Varner of Norfolk, Va.; sister-in-law, Mable Glenn Shellie of Durham.
Homegoing services will be held at noon Monday, January 7, 2013 at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 404 Dowd Street, where she was an active and faithful member for 84 years. Family visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the church.
Public viewing, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fisher Funeral Parlor.

Leslie Denise Holland
DURHAM — Leslie Denise Holland, 49, departed her life on December 27, 2012.
She graduated from Harnett County High School and received a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of NC. She was employed by My Morning Out in Chapel Hill and she also worked at RHA Health Services and Leap of Faith Child Care Center in Durham until her health declined.
Leslie leaves to cherish her memories Carmen Jackson and Savion Crosby, cousins; her adopted family, the Arringtons; and a host of family and friends. Her remains will be laid to rest at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake, NC.

Benjamin "Mr. Ben" Harrison McClary
DURHAM - Benjamin "Mr. Ben" Harrison McClary was born February 2, 1916 in Kingstree, S.C. He departed this life on January 1, 2013, after a brief illness, at home.
Services will be held January 6, 2013 at West Durham Baptist Church, 1901 Athens Ave., at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church at 1 p.m. and all other times at his home, 1514 Cassandra Dr., Durham.
He is survived by daughter, Lana McClary Geer; and two grandsons, Shawn and Michael Geer II, of Chattanooga Tenn.
Services are by Scarborough and Hargett Funeral Home.

Rodney Cecil Roberts Sr.
DURHAM — Mr. Rodney Cecil Roberts Sr., 62, of Durham., died on January 3, 2013.
Mr. Roberts was born in Durham to the late Fred Thomas Roberts and Frances Lorraine “Sis” Pendergraft Roberts. He loved fishing, grilling and shagging.
He is survived by his son, Rodney Cecil Roberts of Durham; brother, Thomas Earl Roberts of Durham; aunt and uncle, Catherine and J. M. Utley; and extended family, Cathy Riggsbee and son, Landon Riggsbee of Durham.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jack Moody.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Catherine and J.M. Utley, 4501 Lumley Rd, Durham.
