Kerry Graham
DURHAM - Kerry Graham, 50, passed on November 16, 2013. He is survived by his daughter Apryle Graham, son Kerry Graham, Jr., sister Lisa Graham Burt and brother Nicalos Von Graham.
A viewing and visitation will be Friday at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home from 1 pm to 3 pm and at McKoy & Sons, St.Pauls, NC from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12 noon.

Alfred Dee Gentry
DURHAM  Mr. Alfred Dee Gentry, 64 of Durham, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
Mr. Gentry was born in Henderson to the late Rural Dee Gentry Jr. and Dorothy Nash Gentry. He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from the Durham Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gentry; son, Brian Gentry and daughter, Kathy Gentry.
Private services were held.

Mike Inscoe
DURHAM - Mike Inscoe passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Durham. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1966 and attended Chowan College. He was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church and served his country in the Army Reserve. Until his retirement, Mike and his brother Ray operated Tom Inscoe’s Wholesale Meat, a company started by their father in the late 60’s. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Inscoe.
He is survived by his mother LaNelle F. Inscoe, his wife of 43 years Paulette W. Inscoe, a daughter Wendy Inscoe, a son Mike Inscoe, Jr. and wife Heather of Raleigh. Four grandchildren, Dustin Allen, Morgan Allen, Avery Inscoe and Logan Inscoe. A sister, Linda Grissom and her daughters Heather and Tara Grissom. A brother Ray Inscoe and his wife Joanie and daughter Audrie Inscoe. Mike also leaves behind a number of treasured friends that were an important part of his life.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Lowes Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Forest Gale officiating.
The family will receive visitors immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Calvin Jerome Roberson
PITTSBORO — Calvin Jerome Roberson, better known as “Jack,” went peacefully from this earth Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born May 09, 1931, in Chatham County, NC. He had suffered from many health issues over the last three months.
He was a wonderfully loving husband, father & grandfather. Jack was also well-known in Chatham County for his sense of humor & matter-of-fact. He loved camping, fishing, travel & taking care of & working with his “big toys” heavy equipment, singing to his wife, talking about his family, both past and present, taking care of his mobile home park, and just plain talking to everyone. Jack especially loved joining his brothers & sisters for their monthly dinner out.  
Jack attended Bynum & Pittsboro, NC, schools. He met the love of his life in the Roses Dime Store in Chapel Hill, NC. He and Mary Catherine Hines were married November 15, 1953. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served with honor until his discharge in 1955. In 1957, he graduated from Danville Technical Institute as a Linotype Operator and worked at the Durham Morning Herald for years. Afterwards, Jack entered into business for himself installing septic tanks. Jack and his wife started Parker’s Creek Mobile Home Park and built the home where they resided to, on the property.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie Ellis Roberson & Allen Roberson; two brothers, Waldo & Baby George Roberson; and a sister, Margaret Roberson Burnette.
He is survived by his wife Mary Catherine Hines Roberson;  his daughter Jackie Roberson;  his two sons, Greg & Rusty Roberson, his daughter-in-law , Marlina Roberson; four grandchildren, Dylan Rigsbee, Randi Roberson, Kaydi Roberson & Noah Roberson. He is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Roberson; and his sisters, Catherine Oldham, Grace Grumble, Mary Farrell, Betty Jean Riggsbee & Barbara Ferrell.  He also has many nieces and nephews who love and remember him dearly.
Jack will be missed by many, but never forgotten for the man he was & the man we loved.
A viewing will be held 1:00PM Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, in Pittsboro, NC. The funeral service will begin at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Vernell Bass Allen
TIMBERLAKE - Vernell Bass Allen, 95, of Timberlake, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion after a lengthy decline in health. Mrs. Allen was a longtime resident of Semora before moving to Timberlake. She resided at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living and Roxboro Nursing Center for the past two years.
Mrs. Allen was born on October 2, 1918 at her family home in Halifax County, Virginia. She was the youngest child of the late Willingham Bass and Elizabeth Churchill Bass. She was married to the late Thomas Scott Allen, Sr. She was also predeceased by her sister Frances Bass Jordan and her brother Charles Willingham Bass.
Mrs. Allen served as the postmaster in Semora until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Semora Baptist Church and held several roles over the years including treasurer, pianist, and Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her two children Thomas Scott Allen, Jr. and wife Ellen of Cary and daughter Dr. Margaret Karen (Kay) Allen of Timberlake. Mrs. Allen is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Patrick Scott Allen of Raleigh and Jonathan Thomas Allen and wife Haley of Holly Springs and her special buddy Sophie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Allen's caretaker and friend, Sylvia Kidd, for her loving care over the past two years. They also wish to thank the staffs at Hock Family Pavilion, Roxboro Nursing Center, and Cambridge Hills Assisted Living for their compassionate care of Mrs. Allen while she was a resident of each facility.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at Brooks and White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her daughter. The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, November 23 at 2:00 pm in the Semora Baptist Church cemetery.
Because she was an avid gardener, flowers are appropriate or donations may be made to Timberlake Fire Department, P.O. Box 25, Timberlake, N.C. 27583 or to a charity of your choice in her memory.

Ida Iannetta Coletta
ENNICE - Mrs. Ida Iannetta Coletta, 88, of Ennice, NC passed away peacefully, on November 14, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born in Viticuso, Italy on October 22, 1925. She married Rufino Coletta and together with their children, immigrated to the United States. She worked at Burlington Industries in Durham for 29 years. Following her husband's death, she relocated to Ennice, NC where she spent several years as a volunteer grandmother for Firehouse Preschool, at the age of 75. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Coletta was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carina Mancone. She is survived by one sister, Filomena Caravaggio, one brother & sister-in-law, Silvio & Flora Iannetta, and one sister-in-law, Maria Cascarino, all of Italy, 9 nieces and nephews in Italy and many cousins in Italy and Canada. She is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Emily & Rick Stallings of Durham, NC, Mary & Tom Toliver of Ennice, NC, and Anna & Jeff Jones of Durham, NC; one son and daughter-in-law, Ugo & Sandy Coletta of Siler City, NC; 6 grandchildren: Angie & Scott Buettner, Cliff & Lori Toliver, Matt Toliver Adam & Hannah Stallings, Michael Coletta, & Nathan and April Coletta; 8 great-grandchildren: William & Owen Buettner, Kannon Toliver, Andrew, Luke, Breleigh, & Anna Coletta, and Baby Stallings, expected in May. Mrs. Coletta was devoted to her Catholic faith and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her greatest joy in this life was spending time with her family and special friends, sharing her love of cooking and gardening. A Memorial Service will be held in Durham at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 12:00 noon.
