Carolyn Tillman Lassiter

DURHAM - Carolyn T. Lassiter, 84, a resident of 5101 Raintree Rd. in Durham, died Saturday, at her home. Mrs. Lassiter was born in Durham Co. to the late Lonnie R. and Myrtle Cates Tillman. She was retired from the medical staff of the Medical Faculty Practice Plan at UNC, where she worked for 30 years. Mrs. Lassiter was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lassiter was predeceased by her husband, Hubert C. Lassiter; and a son, Michael A. Lassiter. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Bordeaux and husband, Gregg, of Durham; a son, Richard C. “Dickie” Lassiter and wife, Diane, of Chatham County; grandchildren, Nicholas Lassiter and girlfriend, Amber Needham, Christopher Bordeaux, Michael Bordeaux and Philip Bordeaux; and a special niece, Lori T. Barbier and husband, David Rosenthal, as well as other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church by Pastor Bob Weatherly. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
Flowers are acceptable or friends may make memorial contributions to Duke HomeCare and Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham 27704; or to the Take and Eat Food Pantry, 19008 US 15-501 N., Chapel Hill 27517. Arnetta Perry Shearin
DURHAM - Memorial service for Mrs. Arnetta Perry Shearin, 75, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2438 S. Alston Avenue.  Family visitation, 1 hour prior to service.
She was a retired Clinical Social Worker with the V.A. Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Kaye Shearin; a son, Clinton A. “Chip” Shearin Jr. (Krystal); grandchildren, Cole A. Shearin, Maxwell A. Shearin and Skye A. Shearin; sister, Carolene Griffin.

William Daniel Chase Underhill
ROUGEMONT — William Daniel Chase Underhill, 16, of Rougemont, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 29, 2012. Chase was employed by Edge Effect Landscapes. Chase was a student at Orange High School where he was active in the FFA and served as the past Treasurer. He was also an active member of the school’s Swim Team, Shooting Club and a former middle school state wrestling champion. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Chase was predeceased by a paternal grandparent, Robert A. Underhill.
Surviving are his father, Kevin Underhill (Beth); his mother, April Underhill Andrews; his stepfather, Chris Andrews; a brother, Chad Wilkins (Lauren); four sisters, Ashley Lawren Underhill, Lauren Caulberg, Mollie Andrews and Grace Andrews; his paternal grandparents, Barbara Underhill and Nancy Neighbors (Stephen); his maternal grandparents, Carole Lassiter (Danny), Freddy Johnson (Judy), Pam Andrews and Denny Andrews; an uncle, Terry Underhill; an aunt, Shannon Groff (Scott); a large extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at New Horizon Church by Rev. Jamie McDonald. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 – 8:30pm at New Horizon Church at 100 Horizon Place, Durham 27705.

Calvin Adolphus Wiggins
DURHAM - Funeral services for Calvin Adolphus Wiggins will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2102 S. Alston ave. Family visitation at 11 a.m.
He was a 1958 graduate of Hillside High School and attended NCCU, Durham Technical Community College, and Piedmont Community College.
He was an electrician with Union Electric Co., Bryant Durham Electrical, Industrial Electrical, and Tradesman International.
He was an Army veteran.
Survivors: sons, Kenneth R. Williams (Tonya), Calvin E. Wiggins, Reginald R. Wiggins (Anjanette); daughters, Debra M. Wiggins, Wanda Wiggins Large, Karen A. Hester; brothers, James Wiggins Jr., Harvey Hinton Jr. (Shirley), Dennis R. Hinton (Carolyn), Anderson Henderson Sr. (Althen), Aaron Spruell (Michelle), Tony Spruell (Brenda); several grandchildren; one great grandson; two aunts, Lizzie Spruell and Margaret Wiggins; nieces, nephews, and special long time friend, Gloria Harris.

DURHAM — Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lawson Williams, who passed Tuesday, December 25th at the Duke Medical Center, will be held Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 at the Bell-Yeager Free Will Baptist Church, 128 Cornwallis Rd. John Willie Watson

CEDAR GROVE — Mr. John Willie Watson, 61, born February 23, 1952, son of Nannie Goldston Watson and the late Norman Watson of Durham, died December 29, 2012 in his home.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. January 2, 2013 in Union Grove Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Mae C. Poole Watson of the home; mother, Nannie G. Watson; three children, Veronica Gayle Palmer, Geraldine Johnetta Gray and Jonice Tonidra Williamson; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three siblings, Delbert Watson, Dearia W. Harris, and Sylvia Williams.

ROXBORO - Bular Benton Gentry Melton, 93, died December 30, 2012.

Jennette Marcella Oesterreicher
TIMBERLAKE — Jennette Marcella Oesterreicher, 75, of Timberlake, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, in Durham Regional Hospital. Mrs. Oesterreicher was born in Illinois to the late Anthony and Josephine Oleniczak. She was predeceased by Frank Oesterreicher. She was a homemaker and known just as “Momma.”
Surviving are a daughter, Kathie Whitley and husband, Russell, of Timberlake; and two grandchildren, Kelsey Whitley and Tyler Whitley.

Franklin M. "Frank" Wrenn
ROXBORO - Franklin M. "Frank" Wrenn, 77, of Roxboro, died Saturday, December 29, 2012.
Born in Person County, Mr. Wrenn was the son of the late Marvin F. "Doc" and Pearl Moore Wrenn. Mr. Wrenn was a member of the Helena High School Class of 1954 and attended East Carolina University. Mr. Wrenn worked for Liggett Myers and as the bookkeeper of B & R Garage of Durham. He was a loyal member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for over 65 years. Frank had a wonderful love for music, which resulted in being choir director for many years at Mt. Zion. He was also an avid Southern Gospel music fan, which resulted in many precious friends from both the artists of Southern Gospel Music and other fans that attended.
Mr. Wrenn is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eleanor Mitchell Wrenn; one brother, Jerry Wayne Wrenn, of Milton; four sisters, Evelyn Solomon, Lynda Allen, Vickie Summerfield and Alice Whitfield, all of Roxboro; and a special son, Jim Mitchell of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James "Snooks" Wrenn, Bernice Wrenn and Bobby Fields Wrenn.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Donald Daniel, Rev. Danny Allen, and Mr. Alex Fogleman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mitchell, Nick Jenkins, Donnie Murray, Brian Murray, Chad Wrenn, and Bill Mathews.
