Josie Ellerbe Holt
DURHAM - Funeral services for Josie Ellerbe Holt, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at White Rock Baptist Church. Family visitation, 30 minutes prior to service.
Mrs. Holt was founder and owner of Tiny Tots Day Care Center, located at 1220 Fayetteville Street. Also was a member of Junior Mothers Club and White Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors: husband, Sterlin M. Holt; son, Sterlin M. Holt Jr.; nephew, Russell Harrison (Delores), and other relatives.
Public viewing will be 12 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Fisher Funeral Parlor.

Cecille Rosenblum Lipton
DURHAM - Cecille Rosenblum Lipton, died Sunday morning in the Hock Family Pavilion. Born in New Orleans, LA, she was reared in Gulfport, MS, daughter of the late James Rosenblum and Debbia Feldman Rosenblum.
Cecille was educated at Gulf Park College for Women, Gulfport, MS and the University of Alabama. She moved to Durham in 1947 when she married Robert I. Lipton, a Durham attorney. A mother and homemaker, after her husband's death in 1976, she started a new career as a customer service representative with the IRS, a position she held for 15 years.
A member of Beth El Synagogue, she was active in The Sisterhood and B'Nai Brith. She was also an avid card player.
Surviving are three sons, Howard Lipton of Needham, MA, Larry Lipton of Los Angeles, CA and Stuart Lipton of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 4:30 p.m., in the Durham Hebrew Cemetery. Officiating will be Rabbi Steven Sager.
Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home is assisting the Lipton family.

Gary Wayne Watkins
DURHAM — Funeral Service for Mr. Gary Wayne Watkins, (51) of Durham, N.C., will be conducted on Today at 1 p.m. from the United for Christ Church on Angier Ave., and the family will meet with their friends one hour before the funeral service. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sandra E. Watkins; one son, Mr. D'Wayne Watkins; one daughter, Miss Kyara Watkins; one brother, Reggie Johnson; two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Barr, Ms. Pamela Watkins; one grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
