Thomas Riley Gilmer

DURHAM — Mr. Thomas Riley Gilmer, Sr, 85, of 205 W. Weaver St., died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his home. His service will be conducted at 12pm on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at First Calvary Baptist Church, 1311 Morehead Ave. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 11am-12pm one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Gilmer is survived by his wife, Mary G. Gilmer, and his children, Thomas Gilmer, Gathea Peaks, Elaine Little, Sherron Williams and Harold Brooks.

Marjorie Stohlman Leimbach
DURHAM — Marjorie Stohlman Leimbach of Durham passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 while at the Hock Family Pavillion.  She was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Mr. & Mrs. Gordon C. Stohlman. She attended Cleveland Institute of Art and was an accomplished artist.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was active in the Altar Guild and Katherine Circle.  She was a long time member of Umstead Pines Golf Club where she enjoyed golf, tennis and the Women of Willowhaven (Garden Club).  She loved being with her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, especially raising orchids in her greenhouse.  She was a Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer for 15 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Charles Leimbach after 56 years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Leimbach Eberhardt and husband Bob of Mebane, N.C.,  her son Jim Leimbach and wife Linda, grandchildren Sydney and Emily Leimbach of Atlanta, GA, sister Carolyn Jacobson of Fairview Park, Ohio, sister-in-law Marguerite Bichsel of Dunedin, FL. , nieces Linda Khan, Marcia Rice and nephews Jack Bichsel and David Bichsel.
The Memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  After the service the family invites everyone to a reception  at the church.

Carl Thomas Lyons
DURHAM — Mr. Carl Thomas Lyons, 70, passed on June 29, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center of Durham.
Surviving relatives include his loving mother, Nannie Pearl Daye Lyons; two sisters, Geraldine Lyons and Lynda P. Lyons Thomas.
Funeral service will take place at Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church, 316 Hebron Road
Durham, NC 27704 beginning at 1 p.m. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

DURHAM — Tracy Weaver, 52, departed his life on June 26, 2014.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife Jonia Weaver and his son Isaac Weaver.
Viewing and funeral will be held at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 3519 Fayetteville St. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 , viewing 10:00 am, funeral 11:00am.

Lydia Marie Coleman Ferrell

ELBERTON, GA — Mrs. Lydia Marie Coleman Ferrell, 81, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ferrell was born in Durham, North Carolina to the late Luther and Lola M. Coleman. She was the wife of Rev. Arthur Kenneth Ferrell, Sr.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ferrell is survived by two sons: Arthur Kenneth Ferrell, Jr., and Reid Ferrell and his wife, Tina. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Coleman and his wife, Bobbie.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Falling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Morgan and Rev. Jay Akin officiating. Interment was at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
