Dr. Satish Chandra Agarwal

DURHAM - Dr. Satish Chandra Agarwal, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in the early hours of May 4, 2013.
He leaves behind his dear wife, Santosh Agarwal; beloved daughters, Rashmi and Ritu; son-in-law, Jai; cherished granddaughters, Sita and Gauri; and a loving sister, Santosh.
A viewing and funeral will be held at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home in Durham, NC at 4 p.m. on Mon., May 6, 2013, followed by cremation at 5:30 p.m. at the Durham Cremation Service.

James Porter Council
DURHAM — James Porter Council, 86, died Sunday morning in the Hock Family Pavilion.
A lifelong resident of Durham, he was the the son of the late John and Callie Council. He was educated in the Lowes Grove schools.
A kind, caring and generous, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend to many, Mr. Council was a truck driver for many years, delivering milk from the farmers to milk processors.
Mr. Council was a member of Pleasent Green United Methodist Church and a veteran of the US Army.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Ammons Council, who died in 2007, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Amy Council Barbee and husband, Brett, of Timberlake and Dana Cole Rappleyea and husband, Juney, of Durham; one son, Bobby Cole, of Durham and wife, Mariana; six grandchildren, Christian Barbee, Scott Rappleyea, Lindsey Williams, Bob Cole, Michael Cole and Anna Maria Cole, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Brian Wingo. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home, Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
