Duane ("DJ") Jerry Arsneau Jr.
DURHAM — Duane ("DJ") Jerry Arsneau, Jr. entered into eternal rest on June 17, 2013.  He was the son of Joyce H. Visconti of Durham, NC. and the late Duane Jerry Arsneau, Sr.  He was also pre-deceased by his step-father A. Rocco Visconti, Sr.  He is survived by three sisters, Tammi Arsneau Gates (Larry) of Wilmington, NC, Diana Arsneau Hocutt of Knightdale, NC, Connie Arsneau Garrett (Don) of Timberlake, NC.  Also surviving are three nephews, Joshua Duane Garrett, Jared Reed Hocutt, Jake Ryan Hocutt; and three nieces, Kristin Nicole Garrett, Kathleen Elizabeth Gates, Samantha Denise Gates; and former brother-in-law, Bruce Hocutt.
D. J. resided in Reidsville, NC at Hazel’s Homecare Solutions.  He was born on 9 October 1964 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.  He spent most of his childhood in Raleigh, NC.  Due to an unfortunate mishap, he spent the past 30 years in many different places.   He was the baby of his siblings, and they had spoiled him. However, he had his own charm and sense of humor, which probably sustained him for the past several years.
His family is holding a private memorial service, and if you would like to commemorate his memory, you may do so to Christus Victor Lutheran Church at 1615 E. Hwy 54, Durham, NC 27713. Condolences may be sent to his mom at 5320 McCormick Rd., Durham, NC 27713-2344.
D. J. became a member of CDS (Carolina Donor Services) at the end of his earthly life helping in many different ways.   Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC is handling the cremation.

Hazel G. Bryant
DURHAM - Mrs. Hazel Garner Bryant died June 23, 2013 at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. Mrs. Bryant was born in Johnston County of NC on November 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Theodrea and Eva Garner. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Servitex/Alsco in Durham. She was a faithful member of Glenn School Road Baptist Church before becoming ill. Her greatest passions were spending time with her family and playing music for various churches in Durham.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, John Calvin Bryant and wife, Angela Carter, of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Emily of Hillsborough, NC, Aaron and wife, Sarah, of Easley, SC, Bryson and wife, Anna; and great grandchild, Alivia of Timberlake, NC; brother, KC Garner and wife, Helen, of Branchburg, NJ; nephew, Corey Garner and wife, Megan; and great nephew, Eliot of Lansdale, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Bryant, who recently passed away in April 2013.
Special thanks to her caregiver, Gloria Clayton.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 2 p.m., at Wayside Baptist Church, Hillsborough, NC with Pastor Brad Williams and Pastor Charles Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be in Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.

Frederick James Fuller
DURHAM — Mr. Frederick James Fuller, 29, of 2114 Orchard Court, Creedmoor, 27522, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion.  His service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at Christian Faith Center, 101 S. Peachtree St, Creedmoor. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7-8 p.m. at Burthey Chapel, 1510 Fayetteville St, Durham and all other times at 2114 Orchard Court.
Mr. Fuller is survived by his parents, Frederick and Carol Fuller; three siblings, Sade F. Tinsley, Breanna Fuller and Malachi Fuller; and many loving relatives and friends.

Jermaine Andrea McDonald
DURHAM - Funeral services for Mr. Jermaine Andrea McDonald (37), of Durham, NC, will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Mosaic Church of Durham at 2031 W. Club Blvd., and the interment will follow in the Glennview Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with their friends one hour before the funeral service. Survivors are two sons, Mr. Christopher Johnson Sr (Chelsea), Mr. DeAndre Johnson; one daughter, Ms. Jenetta Johnson; one grandson; three sisters, Ms. Erica McDonald, Ms. Karen Council, Ms. Lisa Carter; one brother, Mr. Bennie McDonald; his mother, Mrs. Alicia Carter (Elwyoming), aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Earl C. Walker
DURHAM — Earl C. Walker was born June 23, 1935 at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He entered eternal rest suddenly at Duke University Medical Center on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, just four days shy of his 78th birthday. He was preceded into eternal rest by his mother, Bernice Amelia Pennington Walker; and his father, Ralph Hawkins Walker.
Earl was a 1953 graduate of Hillside High School in Durham and continued his education at Hampton Institute (now Hampton University), Hampton, VA. He earned his degree in Industrial Education in 1958, with a concentration in Plumbing and Heating.  Immediately following his education at Hampton, he was drafted into the US Army where he honorably served for two years, as a member of the Military Police (MP) at Fort Ord in Monterrey, CA. He began his early work career in plumbing with the Berry Company and later with Ace Plumbing Company. In 1964, Earl, his mother, Bernice, and his sister, Omelia (Pinky), collaborated to establish Utility Plumbing Company, where he and Pinky became partners, and their mother, Bernice, was Senior Accountant and Business Manager. Earl was joined by his brothers, Randy and Norman, also master plumbers. As proprietor, partner, and master plumber, Earl successfully operated the business for over 40 years, also as a private contractor and consultant for the Duke University Medical Center Plumbing Department. He also served many years on the N.C. Plumbing Board of Examiners.
During his lifetime, Earl was an avid bowler and also had a deep passion for fishing. For over 30 years, Earl was a member of the Plaza Men Bowling League. He had a love for deep sea fishing and always came home from many fishing trips with his uncles, brothers, and friends, with an array of great-tasting fish.
Earl leaves to celebrate his life his son, Kenneth D. Walker; and daughter, Gina M. Walker, both of Durham; his siblings, Randolph H. Walker (Julie) of Durham, Omelia “Pinky” Walker of Durham, Jerome Walker (Rosa) of Hackensack, NJ, Jesse Walker currently of Hackensack, NJ, Norman H. Walker (Marie) of Durham, Elsie Walker Taylor (Thurston) of Richmond, VA, Ralph K. Walker (Marjorie) of Richmond, VA, Timothy Walker (Deborah) of Matoaca, VA, Joseph Walker (Sharon), of Richmond, VA, Gary Walker (Joyce) of Durham, and Loretta Finley (Lemuel) of Radcliff, KY; and his stepmother, Sallie Lewis Walker of Emporia, VA. Also to share in his memory is a large host of other relatives and friends. 
In honor of Earl’s love of fishing, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 - Falls Lake State Recreation Area, Sandling Beach Shelter 6, 14605 Creedmoor Rd., Wake Forest, NC, from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

James Cleveland Abrams
HILLSBOROUGH — A loving husband, father and grandfather, James Cleveland “J.C.” Abrams, of Hillsborough, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham.  Born in Pitt County, J.C. was the son of the late Wrenn Cleveland Abrams and Charlotte Wooten Abrams.  J.C. was also preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Abrams.  He was a retired Engineer with IBM Corp., attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of James B. Green Masonic Lodge, Raleigh Scottish Rite and Amran Shriners.
J.C. is survived by his wife, Bonnie Wrenn Abrams; five daughters, Renee Waltz of Raleigh, Lynn Kennison of Rougemont, Gina Proulx of Fuquay Varina, Kelly Farley of Cary, and Aimee Griffin of Durham; one son, Ryan Garner of Wake Forest; one brother, Mel Abrams of Raleigh; two sisters, Janice Jenkins of Sharpsburg, and Marion Webb of Wilson; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Pastors W. Douglas Lain Jr. and Tara Lain officiating.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service at Aldersgate United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1320 Umstead Rd., Durham, NC 27712 or to Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704.
