Bradley E. Henderson
DURHAM — Mr. Bradley E. Henderson, 87, died early Sunday at Hillcrest Convalescent Center. Mr. Henderson was born in Brookneal, Virginia, the son of the late Kenneth Eggleston Henderson and Olivia Wilson Henderson. Predeceased by his wife Frances Elder Henderson and sister Ganelle Turner.
He was employed by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company as the Director of International Leaf. With Liggett & Myers Brad was considered the best tobacco buyer in the world. He attended Durham High School, Wake Forest University, and was a lifelong supporter and member of the Durham High Alumni group. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons were close to his heart and he always looked out for his Deacons.
Brad was a lifetime member of Hope Valley Country Club where he was Club Champion. He won the Herald-Sun Championship, as well as many other tournaments. He was an avid golfer who loved to teach people the game of golf. HVCC flew the flag at half-mast for him the day of his death. He had a great sense of humor, was fiercely loyal, and was generous to a fault. He was a great friend and storyteller and never forgot a name until the day he died. He was blessed to have many devoted friends that visited him often.
The Henderson family would like to thank Dr. Anne Phelps and her staff at Duke Signature Care for her loving medical assistance over the years. We would also like to express thanks to Wynwood of Chapel Hill for making Daddy’s last two years so pleasant. He was so happy and well cared for and we appreciate your staff and all their help. Lastly, Always Best Care caregivers were wonderful and we would especially like to thank Stephanie Gregory, Inessa Orlopa and Veronica Glover.
Mr. Henderson is survived by 3 children, Gayle Henderson Merrill of Durham, NC, Bradley Eggleston Henderson, Jr. of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Holly Henderson Ridgell of Greenville, SC. He was a proud grandfather of Kendall Henderson, Lindsey Henderson, Grayson Henderson, Wilson Herlong, Spencer Herlong, Kenneth Ridgell and Daniel Ridgell. Surviving nieces Liv Turner Stephens, Suzan Turner Brown, Patsy Turner DiNome.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, at 12 at Howerton Bryan Funeral home. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Grandsons are the casket bearers. The family will receive friends at Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home from 10 to 11:45.
No flowers; contributions should be made to the Oxford Home for Boys, or Durham Rescue Mission.

Emily Anne Stephenson Moorefield
DURHAM — Emily Anne Stephenson Moorefield passed away on July 5, 2014, at her home in Durham. She was born in Durham on October 2, 1976 to Timothy L. Stephenson and Sally Anne Mahoney Horton. She graduated from Southern High School in Durham, and found great pleasure as a floral designer.
She is survived by her mother, Sally Horton of Durham; father, Timothy Stephenson and step-mother, Debra Stephenson of VA; brothers Christopher Michael Stephenson of Wichita, KS, and Jared Martin Stephenson of Durham, NC; step-brother Kaylon Matthew Honeycutt and wife Jessica of Locust, NC; nephew Spencer Stephenson; and nieces Anna Marie Stephenson and Avery Reynolds Honeycutt.
A memorial service will be held at Gorman Baptist Church, 3316 E. Geer St., Durham, at 6pm on Thursday, July 10, 2014. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA. Online condolences may be expressed on her obituary page at www.cremnc.com.
Dwight I. White
DURHAM — Mr. Dwight I. White, 60, of 1309 Hudson Ave., died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at his residence. His memorial service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 3307 Dearborn Dr.
Mr. White is survived by four siblings, Zaber White, Jr., Peggy W. Foushee, Alton White and Pearline White.

Bishop Harold Ivory Williams
DURHAM — It is with great sadness that we inform you of the recent passing of Bishop Harold Ivory Williams, the Senior Patriarch of the Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of America and the husband of Gospel Legend, Pastor Shirley Caesar.
There will be two Homegoing Celebrations for Bishop Williams at Mt. Calvary Word of Faith, 3100 Sanderford Rd., Raleigh, NC 27610, as described below:
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 11th, 7:00 pm. Public viewing will be 12 noon to 6:00 pm.
The Homegoing Celebration will convene Saturday, July 12th, 11:00 am. Visitation will be 9:00 am - 11:00 am.

Margie Wilkins Dean Bumgarner
OXFORD — Margie Wilkins Dean Bumgarner, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Granville Medical Center. She was a native of Granville County, the widow of the late William T. Dean and Herman A. Bumgarner. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church serving for many years as a choir member, past Sunday School Teacher and assistant pianist. She was involved in the founding of the Berea Fire Department, a past member of the Granville County Cattleman’s Association. She was a retired state employee at Butner and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM in Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Mauldin and Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Ellen Johnson Kinney of Ayden, Margie Rose Bumgarner Clark of Charlotte; sons, Jerry W. Dean of Rougemont and Wilson Thomas Dean of MO; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Brindell and Archie Wilkins, and grandson, William Daniel.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services in the fellowship hall of the church.

Novella Bullock Chick
BUTNER — Mrs. Novella Bullock Chick of Butner, NC, was born July 13, 1920 in Granville County, NC and passed on July 4, 2014 at Whitmore Retirement Center in Oxford. Novella is survived by four sisters, three brothers, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 12 noon at First Community Baptist Church, 509 Eno St., Hillsborough, NC. Ira Kenneth Rigsbee
CHAPEL HILL — Ira Kenneth Rigsbee, 70, passed away at Duke University Hospital on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, with declining health for several months. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ire Washington Rigsbee and Mary Frances King Rigsbee. Mr. Rigsbee retired from Nortel Network.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Carpenter Rigsbee, and grandson, Kelly Ware Jr., of the home; sons, Scotty Rigsbee of Wendell, Mike Rigsbee of Layfayette, Tenn., Shane Rigsbee of Bunn, Kelly Ware of Chapel Hill, Chris Ware and wife, Angela, of Henderson; daughters, Cherry Rigsbee of Hurdle Mills, Kendal Rigsbee of Durham; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his devoted friend, Pamela Jones. Ira was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Family and friends will gather at the home on Saturday, July 12, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of his grandson, Kelly Ware Jr., to Camp Royall Autism Society of NC, 250 Bill Ash Road, Moncure, NC 27559.

Thomas Neal Parrish
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Thomas Neal Parrish, age 18, a previous resident of Hillsborough, NC and prior student of Durham Public Schools, passed away on Sunday, June 29th, 2014. He has gone to join his Grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Parrish, whom he loved very much. The lives and hearts of those who knew Neal are forever changed and altered by his infectious love of life and his persistent optimism. Despite physical challenges, Neal lived a full and happy life. He loved connecting/texting with family and friends, instigating laughter and fishing with his uncle Troy. Neal is survived by his Mother, Dr. Rosalie Parrish , and sister, Jenny, of Sacramento, California; uncles, Troy, Joe, Buck and cousin Audrey of North Carolina. Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 8th, 2014, at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sacramento, California.
