Mary Gene Tuck

DURHAM — Mary Gene Tuck, of Durham, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion. Born in Granville County, Mrs. Tuck was the daughter of the late Carl Raymond Daniel and Fannie Pardue Daniel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Percy Tuck; and a daughter, Carole Browning. Mrs. Tuck was a retired hairstylist.
She loved her church, Grey Stone Church, and was a member and regular volunteer for over 20 years. She assisted in establishing the Volunteer Ladies Receptions Group also known as The Welcome Center and also the Second Mile Ministry for helping those in need.
Mrs. Tuck is survived by two daughters, Linda Meier and husband John, and Dee Daniel; sister, Nancy Daniel Haden; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday April 1, from 12:30 -1:45 pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A graveside funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm at Maplewood Cemetery with Dr. Clay Waters officiating. The family would like to give a special thank you to Trina Holland and husband Art for their care and support of her grandmother.

Ronald Wayne Crabtree

HILLSBOROUGH — Ronald Wayne Crabtree, Sr., of Hillsborough, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his residence. Born in Alamance County, Mr. Crabtree was the son of Peggy H. Crabtree and the late John Edward Crabtree. Mr. Crabtree was a retired security clerk from UNC Health Care and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Crabtree is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth “Ann” Council Crabtree; a daughter, Marie Crabtree Parker and husband Reggie; and a son, Ronnie Crabtree Jr.; six grandchildren, Zackery, Cody, Nathaniel and Makayla Parker and Matthew and Jacob Crabtree; a great-grandchild, Cooper Lee Parker; a sister, Iris Tilley; and five brothers, Morris Crabtree, Johnny Crabtree, David Crabtree, Mark Crabtree and Ricky Crabtree.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Clements Funeral Chapel, Hillsborough, with Rev. Dan Robinson and Rev. Chris Gambos officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Pittsboro. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at Clements Funeral Home, Hillsborough.
