Robert F. Arnold
DURHAM — Robert F. Arnold, 73 of Durham, NC passed away April 26, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Susan C. Arnold; son, Brett Arnold (wife Susan); sons Ben Broughton and Kelly Broughton; grandchildren, Hali Broughton and Kobie Broughton. There will be a visitation with the family May 1, 2014 at Williford Funeral home at 12:00 noon with a funeral service directly following at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cary.

Peggy Hayes Barber
DURHAM — Peggy Hayes Barber, 86, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born and raised in Durham, daughter of the late Leo Linwood Hayes and Marjorie Green Hayes. She was proud of being the only sibling born at home and teased that she knew she belonged to Daddy and Mother because of this and told the other three that they could have gotten mixed up at the hospital. Peggy was a graduate of Bragtown High School and a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She was a home maker and chief cook of the Barber family and loved every moment of her “duties”. She loved the beach, Kerr Lake, swimming and the sun.
Peggy is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Womack “Buck” H. Barber, Jr.; her oldest son, Womack “Butch” H. Barber, III; brother, Walter Lenwood Hayes, Sr., and baby sister, Betsy H. Tilley. She is survived by her son, Michael Lane Barber; her daughter, Holly B. Gilliam (Mike); her grandchildren, Jordan G. Belcher (Josh), Blake Gilliam, Raygan Gilliam; a great granddaughter, Ella Belcher; a sister, Carolyn H. Taylor and sister-in-law, Helen C. Hayes.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham by Rev. Jonathan Hendrickson. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home.        
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Duke Hospice, Hock Pavilion, 4321 Medical Park Dr., Ste 101, Durham, NC 27704, Rose of Sharon Baptist Church-Building Fund, 4109 Guess Rd., Durham, NC 27712 or a charity of one’s choice.

Gregory (Greg) Oneal Berry
DURHAM — Mr. Gregory (Greg) Oneal Berry made his earthly transition on Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home in Durham, N.C. Born February 14, 1957, he was employed by CREE, Inc. and was a graduate of North Carolina Central University. Preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiawatha and Lurenda Moore Berry, he leaves to cherish his memory five sisters, Mrs. Priscilla B. Leazer, Lumberton, NC, Mrs. Mary Gwyn (Fred), Elkin, NC, Ms. Golda E. Ellis, Durham, NC, Ms. Melanee B. Bennett, Pilot Mountain, NC, Dr. Gloria Berry-Holly, Hillsborough, NC, two brothers, Mr. Charles M. Berry (Helen), Durham, NC, and Mr. James I. Berry (Margaret), King George, VA, brother-in-law, Mr. George Meredith, Frederick, MD, seven aunts Mrs. Madge Haynes, Mrs. Loretta Moore, Mrs. Nancy Moore, Mrs. Alice Lee Moore, Mrs. Rachel Dodd, Mrs. Lula Mae Moore, and Mrs. Margaret Haliburton, one Uncle, Mr. Columbus Moore, one foster uncle, Mr. Leonard Moore, two foster aunts, Mrs. Josie Moore and Mrs. Mary Alice Moore, eight foster siblings (children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Webster)devoted nephews Abdul Ellis and Marcus Leazer, and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday April 29 with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon at Exodus P.P. Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain, NC. A memorial service is being planned for Friday May 2 in Durham, NC at Holloway Funeral Home.

Alvie Mae Cannova
DURHAM — Alvie Mae Cannova, 92, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Spring Arbor of Durham. She was born in Johnston County to the late William and Viola Lee Barbour. She was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Cannova; daughter, Kathy Martin and son, William Larry Cannova. Alvie was a longtime member of the American Business Women’s Association and served as a secretary at the local chapter.
Mrs. Cannova is survived by her special friends, Stephanie and Ken Weaver; sister, Shirley B. Marshburn; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, May 1 at Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 5441 N. Carolina 96, Four Oaks, NC 27524. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

Gerard Yvan Colliot
DURHAM — Gerard Yvan “Rod” Colliot, Jr., 59, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his home. He was born in Durham County, son of Gerhard Yvon Colliot and the late Virginia Moore Colliot.
Rod is survived by his wife, Pam Colliot; daughter, Carmon Ellis (Joey); son, Kevin Colliot; sister, Sonia Crabtree; grandchildren, DJ, Dylan, Brianna and Gage.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

Kawanda Q. Rochelle (Kee Kee)
DURHAM — Kawanda Q. Rochelle (Kee Kee), age 35, departed this life on April 26, 2014 at Durham Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her mother Sylvia Hunt, father Sylvester Foster;  grandparents Nancy Hannah and William Rochelle (Belinda);  four sisters,  one brother, four aunts,  two uncles James Fulmore (Cindy), William Rochelle (Tina); a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at Apostolic Revival, 1207 Angier Ave., Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm, visitation at 12 noon.

James Howard Dickerson, Jr.
OXFORD — James Howard Dickerson, Jr., 57, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late James Howard Dickerson, Sr. He was a member of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church and worked with his father in construction for many years.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Bruce Brooks.
Surviving are his mother Margaret Smith Dickerson of the home, three sisters; Wanda D. Sykes of Enfield, Beverly D. Faulkner of Oxford, Lisa Lynn Dickerson of Oxford, a brother, Scott S. Dickerson of Oxford, three nieces; Laura Ashley Sykes, Blair D. Hicks, Mary Chandler Dickerson, two nephews; Phillip Craig Sykes and Charles Jason Faulkner.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. in the sanctuary at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church.

HILLSBOROUGH - Albert Long, Jr. 76, son of the late Albert and Emma Walker Long Sr., born August 16, 1937 died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at home.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday in Mt. Bright Baptist Church with a 1:00 PM family visitation in the church.
Surviving are daughters, Latonya Whitted, and Maria (Eric) Jones brothers, Eugene (Dr. Gladys) Long and William B.(Kathleen) Long, sisters, Sylvia Jackson and Virginia Jennings; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grand children.

Wade "Boss" Pearson Johnson
BENSON — Mr. Wade "Boss" Pearson Johnson, age 74, formerly of Benson, died Sunday at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Rev. Karl Grant will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born in Johnston County on April 27, 1940 to the late Tommie Valton and Rabie McLamb Johnson. He was a 1958 graduate of Benson High School and was a licensed physical therapist with Dorothea Dix Hospital. Mr. Johnson was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member of the choir.
Surviving are Ralph Compton of Hillsborough, Katie J. Morgan of Benson, Nancy J. (Sherwood) Keith of Benson, Cherry J. (Jack) Littleton of Benson, Tommy R. "Bud" Johnson of Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 12:30pm to 1:30pm Thursday prior to the service. Flowers are welcomed, however memorials may be made to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund.  Cedar Grove, NC 27231.
