Joseph (Flang) Blue
DURHAM — Mr. Joseph (Flang) Blue, son of the late James Edward Blue and Virginia Louise Dixon Blue, was born on July 11, 1943 and departed this life on June 13, 2013. 
Flang, as he was affectionately called, was educated in the Durham Public School System. After graduation from high school, he worked several jobs before retiring from GTE after 27 years of service.
He met and married Mary L. Watson on Jan. 18, 1964 and to this union was born two sons.
Flang joined Northside Baptist Church at an early age.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Louise Blue; two sons, Joseph Nigel Blue (Le Shone) of Durham, NC., Erik Le Sean Blue (Iris) of Paris, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Glenda Blue Rogers (Falton) of Durham, NC.; two brothers, Bobby L. Blue of Washington, DC and Christopher C. Blue (Delores) of Durham, NC; six grandchildren, Eunora Mangum, Dominique Blue, Jarrod Melton, Erika Blue, Ilisha Blue and Cleavon Martin; three great grandchildren, Kaliyah Williams, Kyree Blue, Myanna Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at St John Missionary Baptist Church, Friday, June 21, at 1 p.m. with visitation at 12 noon.

Daryl Bernard Green
DURHAM — Daryl Bernard Green went peacefully into heaven on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Hospital. The 4th of 7 children born to the late Eddie and Christine Green. He was a military veteran and a retired Engineer. 
Surviving relatives are his wife, Audrey Green; three sons, Daryl Bagley, Travis Ragland, Bernard Green; two step sons, Andre and Michael White; three sisters, Patricia Smith, Zarinah Bari, Charlestine Royster; and nine grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of his life at South Side Church of Christ, 800 Elmira Ave, Durham, NC, Friday, June 21st. Viewing at 11 a.m. with the service following at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at 423 Obie Dr.

Larry “Flint” Foushee
OXFORD — Larry “Flint” Foushee, 54, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013. Flint was born October 9, 1958 in Durham to William Earl and Elaine Ellis Foushee. He was a graduate of N.C. State University and Southern High School. Flint was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Oxford.
He is survived by his wife, of 18 years, Dottie Foushee; his son, William “Will” Foushee; his daughter, Elizabeth Grace Foushee all of Oxford.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Corinth Baptist Church in Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Flint’s memory may be made to the National MS Society, 3101 Industrial Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609.

Wilmer A. Lawson
ROXBORO — Wilmer A. Lawson, son of late Manie Cash and Wilmer Lawson passed on Friday, June 14, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Dinetta Johnson; two sons, Antonio Johnson and Wilmer Anthony Lawson; two siblings, Gladys Lawson Walden and Lottie Lawson Sneed.
Family will receive friends today, June 19th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hester, Whitted and Daye Funeral Home, Roxboro, NC. Funeral services, Thursday, June 20th at 11 a.m. at Greater Cleggs Chapel Baptist Church, 2601 Surl-Mt. Tirzah RD, Timberlake.

Ronald Wayne O’Quinn
REIDSVILLE — Ronald Wayne O’Quinn, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, with his wife by his side. He served in the US Army and the National Reserves and was honorably discharged on May 15, 1963. After his service in the army, he began his career with the American Tobacco Company in Durham, North Carolina. When the American closed in Durham, he transferred to Reidsville and worked there until his retirement. After his retirement, he pursued his passion of raising cattle and hay on his farm. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. O’Quinn and Jewel O’Quinn Mangum. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Fay Lester O’Quinn; son, Ronald Bryan O’Quinn of Santa Barbara, California; daughters, Terry O’Quinn of Arlington, Texas, Sharon O’Quinn of Arlington, Texas, Aleeta Smith and husband, Brian, of Timberlake, North Carolina, Sonya Cato and husband, Mike, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Angel Judlin and husband, Jai, of Willow Springs, North Carolina; brothers, William V. O’Quinn and wife, Carolyn, of Durham, North Carolina, Larry C. O’Quinn of Kinston, North Carolina, Charles S. O’Quinn and wife, Sandra, of Durham, North Carolina, Carl L. O’Quinn and wife, Doris, of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren, Casey Dunbar, Jamie Bordeau, Christopher Smith, Michael Cato, Richard Cato, Elizabeth Cato. 
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Mayo Christian Church, 4949 George Taylor Road, Spencer, Virginia 24165, with burial to follow in the church cemetery with military rites. A visitation will be from 6-8 on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville.
