Edna E. Cole
DURHAM — Funeral services for Edna E. Cole, of Durham, will be held Saturday, January 11, at 1 p.m. Service will take place at Community Baptist Church, 4821 Barbee Road, with the Rev. Percy R. Chase officiating. Burial in Markham Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Surviving are her son, Reginald T. Cole; brother, Cleo Cole; sisters, Hazel McGill and Miss Wilma Smith. Funeral arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home Inc.

Henry Edward “Eddie” Jones
DURHAM — Henry Edward “Eddie” Jones, 68, passed away unexpectedly at home in Fort Myers, Florida on December 28, 2013. He was born October 12, 1945 in Durham, NC to the late Millard and Thelma (Williams) Jones. Eddie grew up in Carrboro/Chapel Hill, NC but had lived in Florida for 40 years. He loved to fish and sail in his sailboat. In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Bill and Raymond. He is survived by sons Brent Allen and Josh Jones of Florida; grandchildren Bethany and Gabriel; brother Roy Jones (Clarice) of Bynum, NC; sisters Marie Zedaker (JD) of Fort Myers, FL and Nancy Dodd (Robert) of Raleigh, NC.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children at

Delbert R. Moore
DURHAM — Delbert R. Moore, of Durham, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham. Born in Martin County, Mr. Moore was the son of the late William Edward Moore and Courtney Holiday Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Smith Moore. Mr. Moore was a former plumber and a U.S Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Moore is survived by three daughters, Rachel Marlene Poe, Debbie Lee and husband Wayne, and Susan Maas; one son, Ray Moore and wife Gerry; and a sister, Annie Ruth Stanley and husband Douglas.
A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church, Durham. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Aldolphus "Al" Prince Jr.
DURHAM — Aldolphus "Al" Prince Jr., 63, departed this life on January 3, 2014. He is survived by his by mother, Louise Hedspeth Prince; an uncle; two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on Dowd St., Durham, NC on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 12 noon with visitation at 11:30 am.

Bobby Ray Proctor, Sr.
DURHAM — Mr. Bobby Ray Proctor, Sr., 80, a former resident of Durham, died on Friday, January 3, 2014. He had been living in Nashville, NC for the past seven years.
Mr. Proctor was born in Durham to the late Richard Proctor and Lela Crabtree Pettigrew. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the Korean War. He was a retired mechanic. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Elm City and a former member of the American Legion Post 7. He built and raced race cars and go-carts. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to ride Harleys and rode until he was 78 years old.
He is survived by his lifelong companion, Kathleen Burgess; two sons, Bobby Proctor Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Creedmoor, Steve Proctor of Butner; two daughters, Karen Byrd of Henderson and Gayle Clark of Oxford; closest friends, Mike and Tammy Wall; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Dr. Harry Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

Debra G. Reid
DURHAM — Ms. Debra G. Reid, 55, of 824 Gerard Street died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Hock Hospice Center, Durham, NC.
Survivors include: her three sons, Shon Reid (Lashaonda), Perrin (Bam) Reid, and Desmond Reid of Durham; two sisters Costella Harris (Thomas), and Kimberly Daye of Durham; her father, Lewis Daye of Durham; one brother, Donnie Daye of New Jersey and a host of family and friends.
Her service will be conducted at First Calvary Baptist Church, 1311 Morehead Ave., Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home on Hwy 55 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Annie Mae Jones Smith
DURHAM — Annie Mae Jones Smith, 79, of Durham, NC, departed on January 5, 2014. She leaves three sons, Henry Smith, Jesse Smith, William Smith; three daughters, Christine Smith-Taylor, Sinatra Kitt, Clementine Smith.
A viewing will be held at Greater Emmanuel Temple of Grace on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11 am, funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Arrangements are entrusted to Scarborough and Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.

Willa Gray Watkins
DURHAM — Mrs. Willa Gray Watkins, 88, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at Carver Living Center. She was born in Durham County and was the last survivor of nine children of the late Graham Thompson and the late Elsie Holleman Thompson. Mrs. Watkins retired from A&P Grocery Store. Following retirement she was self-employed.
She is locally survived by her nephews, James Dunnagan and wife, Dolly, John Dunnagan and her closest friend and caregiver, Ruth Campbell.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the New Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park by Pastor Norman Gordon. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
