Arthur Bethea
DURHAM — Mr. Arthur Bethea, 94, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013. His service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Burthey Funeral Chapel, 1510 Fayetteville St. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Burthey Chapel from 2-3 pm one hour prior to the service.
Mr Bethea is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Haymer and Nina Mae Copeland, and a host of grands and great-grands.

Henry F. Hopkins
DURHAM — Mr. Henry F. Hopkins passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the Hock Family Pavilion. Mr. Hopkins was born in Zebulon, NC to the late Joseph Hopkins, Sr. and Rena Wiggs.
Surviving relatives include four daughters, Phyllis Nee, Veronica Hopkins Garrett, Pamela Hopkins and Angela Hopkins; two step-sons, Michael Hopkins and Alfred Hopkins.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1 pm at Pleasant Grove Church, with Dr. Classy Preston officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
Services are entrusted to Scarborough and Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.

Delores Langley Quick
DURHAM — Delores Langley Quick, 65, departed her life on December 29, 2013. She leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Charles E. Quick, two daughters, two sons, five grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2013 at 12:00 noon at First Calvary Baptist Church, 1311 Morehead Avenue. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am on Friday prior to the service.

Charles Junior "Wimpy" Roberts, Jr.
DURHAM — On December 24, 2013, Charles Junior "Wimpy" Roberts, Jr., of 2415 Loftin Drive, went home to be with Jesus after a long illness. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Roberts; sons Jacob Roberts and Trent Pope; mother, Grace Parrish; sisters Angela Ferrell and Donna Roberts; many nieces and nephews. He will be surely missed. A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church on Friday, January 3, at 2 p.m., officiated by Dr. Rick Finley.

June Faye Withers
DURHAM — June Faye Withers was born June 9, 1927, to Bud and Margaret Baldwin Snipes in Chatham County, NC. Mrs. Withers passed away on December 28, 2013, peacefully at her home.
She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Faye Robert Kearney, Shelia Smith, Margaret Robert Young and Rhonda Withers; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Bell Yeager Free Will Baptist Church, 128 Cornwallis Rd. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
Services are entrusted to Scarborough and Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.


GRANVILLE

Linda Ann Elliott Adams
BUTNER — Linda Ann Elliott Adams, 68, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at her home.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late James Edward and Pauline Boyd Elliott. She was a member of Butner First Baptist Church and retired from John Umstead in medical records with over thirty years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Charlie Bryan and Rev. Lennie Rogers. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are her husband of forty-nine years, James Mahan Adams of the home; two daughters, Carol A. Pruitt of Creedmoor, Tonya A. Martinez (Rogelio) of Wilton; a son, Chris Adams(Sheila) of Katy, Texas; two sisters, Peggy E. Jackson of Stem, Carrie E. Ellixson of Butner; three granddaughters, Briley Adams, Makayla Adams, Kierston Adams; and two grandsons, Justin Pruitt and Kevin Martinez.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday evening, January 2, 2014 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.

Rita Faye Lewis
DUNN — Mrs. Rita Faye Lewis, 65, of Dunn, died Monday morning at Golden Years Nursing Home in Falcon. She was born in Durham County on June 7, 1948 to the late James and Carrie Evers Langley. She was preceded in death by a brother, Pete McDougal, and two sisters, Sally Jackson and Betty Jo Langley.
Rita was a member of North Clinton Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 at North Clinton Baptist Church of Dunn with Rev. Billy Stines.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Gary L. Lewis; brother, Tommy McDougal of Bahama; three sisters, Ann Hunt of Reidsville, Doris Thomas of Las Vegas and Toni Butler of Durham.
