Courtney Mae Edwards
DURHAM — Courtney Mae Edwards, 89, entered into eternal rest on Chistmas Eve,Tuesday, December 24,2013. She is survived by her sister, Argie Jones; two devoted daughters, Carolyn E.Stroud and Selma Fay Lyons, and a host of other relatives.
Her homegoing services will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at St. Joseph C.M.E. Church, 510 West Rosemary St. Chapel Hill, NC. with visitation one half hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

Michelle Faison
DURHAM - Mrs. Michelle Faison, 45, of 415 Mayview Dr., Creedmoor, died December 26, 2013. Her funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 12:00pm at Christian Faith Center, 101 S. Peachtree St., Creedmoor, NC, 27522. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC. The family will receive friends Thursday at the Church from 11:30 until 12:00pm just prior to the service. There will be a public viewing at Burthey Funeral Chapel from 1-6pm on Tuesday, December 31.
Mrs. Faison is survived by her husband, Dawain Faison; her son, Andrew Coleman; her mother, Iris D. Bailey; three sisters: Freda Bailey, Iris J. Bailey and Josephine King; and, two brothers: Rodney A. Ramseur and Fred W. Bailey. Arrangements by Burthey Funeral Service.

William L. “Moose” Haines
DURHAM - William L. “Moose” Haines passed to be with His Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital.  He was born on September 26, 1955 in Kingston, New York. He was the son of William F. Haines and Dolores Razey  Haines. He is survived by his daughter Erin of Washington, NC. and son Benjamin of Raleigh, NC;  brothers Lawrence (Larry) of Durham, NC, and Thomas (Lana) of Rougemont, NC; Uncle John Haines of Biloxi, MS;  Aunt Helen Haines of Kingston, NY; and many cousins and other friends. Special friends are Betty Mangum, and Debbie Hamlet Herndon, both of Durham, NC, and Leslie Kempton of Toronto, Canada. He was a charter member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
His career was with Digital Security, Inc., of Durham, where he was a very devoted and valuable employee. He loved his children dearly. He was a graduate of Jordan HS, a member of the band and the football team. He loved playing football and golf and watched all sports on tv. He was a gentle giant of a man.
A memorial service will be held Saturday January 4th at noon at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 1615 E. NC Hwy. 54, Durham, NC, 27713.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC., 20004, 202-785-3355; or to Christus Victor Lutheran Church.

Pamela Louise Strickland
DURHAM — Pamela Louise Strickland, 63, died on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Carver Living Center after an extended illness. She was retired from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of N.C. after 30 years of faithful service.
She is survived by two sisters, Pat Jones of Emerald Isle, NC; and Paula Mann (David) of Durham; one brother, Charles Strickland of Charlotte. Seven nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.

Luvenia Eula Carson
Cedar Grove — Luvenia Eula Carson, 94, born April 17, 1919, died December 25, 2013 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, N.C. The funeral will be conducted 12:30 PM Monday with family visitation 12:00 until 12:30PM in Chavis-Parker Funeral Chapel. Burial in Lee's Chapel Baptist Church, Cedar Grove, NC.
Survivors are: A daughter, Geneva Bostic, 4 grandchildren, Teresa Fortlyn (Daniel), Camillia Knight (Roshaan), Lester Bostic (Betty) and Daniel Bostic; and four great-great grandchildren.  Chavis-Parker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
