Virginia Lynch Bryant
DURHAM — Mrs. Virginia Lynch Bryant, 93, of Durham, died on Friday, January 24, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Fred Baird Lynch and Nellie Moore Lynch. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church since 1961 and taught Sunday School there for over thirty-five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Woodrow Bryant.
She was survived by four daughters, Carolyn Gilreath of Greenville, S.C.; Faye Pickens (John) of Durham, Gail Smith (Ray) of Durham and Brenda McClintock (Scott) of Durham; five grandchildren, Bill Smith, Steve Smith, Tina Dail, Cindy King and Connie Buchanan; eleven great-grandchildren, Taylor Melton, Timothy Dail, Christopher King, Tucker Smith, Philip Dail, Melissa King, Sidney Smith, Kaitlyn King, Stephen Dail, Jaclyn Dail and Kathryn Dail.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Dr. Rick Finley, Dr. Lonnie Graves and Rev. Kevin Dail will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Brock King, Ricky Buchanan, Darrell Slaughter, James Slaughter, Ray Ellis, Ricky Oakley and Bud Parton.

Ruby Mae Gongs
DURHAM — Ruby Mae Gongs was born to Charlie and Mary Lawrence on June 18, 1918 in Creedmoor, NC. After a long stay at Carver Living Center she entered holy eternity on January 22, 2014. A Celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 27, 2014, with viewing at 11 a.m. and service at 12 noon at First Calvary Baptist Church, located at 1311 Morehead Ave., Durham, NC. Services are entrusted to Scarborough and Hargett Memorial Chapel and Gardens.

Margaret V. McDonald
DURHAM — Margaret V. McDonald, 93, of Durham, died Friday, January 24, 2014, in Duke Regional Hospital. Mrs. McDonald was born in the Tar River community of Granville County, moving to Harnett County, where she met her late husband, Hubert F. McDonald. Moving to Durham, she was employed by the American Tobacco Co. before retiring with 49 years of service. Mrs. McDonald was a faithful member of Park View Baptist Church, where she was very active. She was formerly active with the Cub Scouts. She was predeceased by her parents, Irma Belle Coley Vaughan and father, William Elvin Vaughan.
Surviving are her son, Rodney F. McDonald and wife, Sharon; a sister, Mable V. King of Durham; two grandchildren, Tray Boone and Brandon Boone; a great-grandchild, Cole Rodney Boone; and a nephew, Steve King.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Clements Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ernest Ferrell and Rev. Roger Lee. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. Flowers are acceptable, or donations may be made to Park View Baptist Church, 2500 Acadia St., Durham, NC 27704.

Roger Sanford Williams
DURHAM — Roger Sanford Williams, 76, of Durham, died Friday, January 24, 2014, at Duke University Hospital. Mr. Williams was born in Portland, Maine, to the late Emily Marion Waite Williams and Sanford Joseph Williams.
Roger was a retired truck driver and was also a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was a member of Knap Of Reeds Masonic Lodge #158 and was also part of the Hardee’s Group.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Williams; a daughter, Tammy Gail Williams; a son, Kenneth Dwayne Williams; two grandchildren, Roger Dwayne Williams and wife, Jenny, and Laura Abigail Williams; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Williams and Noah Williams; and a sister, Patricia Hill and husband, Bill.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, with Dr. Marc Francis and Rev. Dave Pryor officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

Robert W. Jones
CHAPEL HILL — Robert W. Jones (Bobby) of Chapel Hill, NC departed his life at the Durham VA Hospital on January 23, 2014 after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving daughters, Letitia Jones Davison (Randy) and Kevah N. Jones; siblings Lanie Jones of Bridgeport, CT, Anthony Jones (Dawn) of Louisburg, NC, Vanessa Cotton of Chapel Hill, NC, Carolyn M. Council and Blanche Dorsey (Gerald) of Baltimore, MD and Thomas W. Morrow, Jr. (Lisa) of Durham, NC; aunts Alberta Neely of Carrboro, NC and Jimmy Lee Bynum of Chapel Hill, NC; and a host of loving relatives and friends. He was a 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School, Chapel Hill, NC, and in the United States Air Force. Services will be at First Baptist Church on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. There will be visitation at 11:00 a.m. before the services. Nannie "Nina" Pulliam
ROUGEMONT — Nannie "Nina" Pulliam, 85, of 179 GAP Farm Rd., Rougemont, died Saturday, January 25, 2014. Born in Surry County, Mrs. Pulliam was the daughter of the late Jonah and Minerva Holyfield Key and wife of the late Algie Pulliam.
Mrs. Pulliam retired from textiles and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pulliam is survived by her daughter, Helen Yarboro Hackler and husband Dennis, of Roxboro; her son, Algie Kent Pulliam and wife Robin, of Roxboro; four grandchildren, Andy Yarboro and wife Stephanie, Sara Yarboro, Kerri Pulliam-Ottwell and husband Brian and Alan Pulliam and wife Candace; three great-grandchildren, Emma Shay Yarboro, Hunter Pulliam, Nataleigh Ottwell; and her special niece and caregiver, Debbie Ashley.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, January 27, 2014, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Barry Chambers and the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8PM, Sunday, Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Alan Pulliam, Andrew Yarboro, Billy Collins, Craig Wrenn, Robert Kerr, and Buddy Stevens.
