Marion Holmes Cobb
DURHAM — Marion Holmes Cobb died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1941 to the late Charles Marion Cobb and the late Lelia Swindell Cobb in Williamston, NC.
Marion moved to Durham to attend Watts School of Nursing. She ended up planting roots and working for decades as a registered nurse at Watts Hospital and later at Duke Hospital. In Durham, she developed a wide circle of friends, many of whom considered her a member of their families. She will be deeply missed at Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all of the days between.
Marion was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister, Rebecca Cobb Rogers, and other members of her beloved Martin County family. She is survived by her cousins, Claxton Harris, Virginia McGranahan, Betsy Proctor, Ellen Weekley, Judy Eason, Sue Mobley, Lou Hollowell, Dr. Larry Toore, Betty Ann Perkins, Ed Swindell, Don Miller, Dr. Kent Benton, Dr. Jim Benton, extended family and special dear friends, Linda Everett and the late, Robinson Everett, and their 3 sons, Rob, Greg and Luke.
A visitation will take place at Clements Funeral Home in Durham on Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston on Monday at noon.

William R. Marshall
DURHAM — Mr. William “Ronnie” Marshall, 70, died Wednesday at Hock Family Pavilion. Mr. Marshall was born in Virginia, the son of the late William Abner Marshall and the late Dovie Mae Trent Marshall. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Marshall moved to Durham in 1967 and was formerly employed with Meade Container and Durham Box Co. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Burks, and a sister, Joan Tweedy.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife, Barbara Marshall; a daughter, Rhonda Marshall Bell and husband, Scott, of Roxboro; son, Charles Ritch of Efland; brother, Thomas Burks of Virginia; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Bell, Scottie Bell and Lindsey Freeman; and 4 nieces and 3 nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.

Bobbie Marie Spence Teer
DURHAM — Bobbie Marie Spence Teer, daughter of the late Mack Carlie & Connie Fogleman Spence, was born on February 1, 1927, in Durham. She died Tuesday morning, February 19, 2014, at Rose Manor, following several years of declining health. During that time she resided at Carolina House of Durham, where she made many good friends. Everywhere she lived, worked, or visited, she made lifelong friends. Her laughter was infectious. Bobbie retired from Sperry Rand Corp. and later worked at the Duke Athletic Center and volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William (Bill) E. Teer and his daughter, Janet Teer, a child with special needs who loved Bobbie and her family. Both of Bobbie’s children, James Ferrell, Jr., and Janice Ferrell Newcomb preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Monroe Spence, and sister, Marion Maxine Spence.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Spence Meachum and Judith Spence Ford (Eddie) of Durham and their families. Other survivors include her cherished grandchildren, Lisa Hinson (Mike) of Timberlake who was her caregiver this past year, Connie Ferrell of Apex, and Joshua Ferrell (Shannon) of Wendell, and her great-grandchildren, Morgan Yount, Tyler Hinson, and Kane, Parker, and Colt Ferrell of Wendell. Bobbie had many devoted medical caregivers who were special to her; two who gave her long-term support were Dr. Tracey Black and Dr. Anita Cook, Duke Physicians.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2700 Roxboro St, Durham. Reverend Mark D. Stephens will preside. Her ashes will be buried next to her son in Maplewood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Bobbie requested that donations be made to St. Paul or to the Urban Ministries, PO Box 249, Durham, NC 27702. Rebecca Ruth Bennett
CHAPEL HILL — Rebecca Ruth Bennett, 51, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away on January 31, 2014. She is survived by her husband, David L. Branch, Jr.; daughters, Kira and Nicole; mother, Donna Bennett; sister, Leah Edwards; mother-in-law, Delores Nicholas; and many other devoted family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, or the Bouncing Bulldogs, Kira and Nicole's 529 College Plan.

Michael Earl Walker Jr.
HILLSBOROUGH — Michael Earl Walker Jr., “Mike Mike,” son of Brenda Jacobs and Michael Walker Sr., born Nov. 11, 1993, died Feb. 16, 2014 in an auto accident.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday in Hester Grove Baptist Church. Family visitation one hour before the funeral.
Suvivors are his mother and father, Brenda Jacobs and Michael Walker Sr., partner, Shaneska Wardlow, and son, Khalil Walker. A host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
