Douglas Lee Cameron
DURHAM — Douglas Lee Cameron, 62, peacefully passed away on June 3, 2014 at Duke Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Ruth Williams; two daughters; one son; three sisters, Angela Carrington, Priscilla Carrington and Jacqueline Haley.
Services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014, at Mount Calvary United Church of Christ, 1715 Athens Ave., Durham, NC, 12 noon visitation and 1:00 service.

Mabel Couch Carpenter Keith
DURHAM — Mrs. Mabel Couch Carpenter Keith, 95, of Durham, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Mrs. Keith was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late John Willie Couch and Lola Perry Couch. She graduated from Oak Grove High School. She was a secretary at Oak Grove School in the 1950s and retired from Duke University Medical Center. She was a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church where she served as church clerk. She loved to read. She was preceded in death by first husband, Earl Carpenter, Sr.; two brothers, Dennis and Jesse Couch; four sisters, Ruth Couch, Elizabeth Carpenter, Bessie Green and Mildred White.
She is survived by her son, Earl Edward Carpenter and wife, Jackie of Durham; daughter, Nancy C. Sawaya of Durham; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ed Denton and Dr. Fred Williams. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy Sawaya. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
Edward O. Sanford
BAHAMA — Edward O. Sanford, 89, of Bahama, died Friday, June 6, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital. Born December 4, 1924 to the late Marion Polk Sanford and Lucy Oliver Sanford. Ed retired from Duke Power after 31 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, the Bahama Ruritan Club, Knap of Reeds Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. Ed was also a founding member of the Bahama Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley B. Sanford, and a son-in-law, Michael E. Harris.
Surviving are: a son, Charles M. Sanford and wife, Nancy of Bahama; a daughter, Debra S. Harris of Durham; a sister, Louise Beasley of Durham; grandchildren, Dan Sanford and wife, Cassidy, Jamie Craig and husband, Brian, Lauren Farlow and husband, Jeremy and Mary Harris; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Charlie Sanford; a niece, Kathy Burger and a nephew, Alan Beasley.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery in Bahama. Rev. Bob Bergland will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of Mt. Bethel UM Church.In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, PO Box 27, Bahama.

Annie Lee Carroll Ray
HILLSBOROUGH — Annie Lee Ray, 100, born October 3, 1913 to the late Alexander and Mary Carroll, died in Carver Living Center, Durham, June 5, 2014.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Durham, NC with burial in church cemetery. Family visitation 1:30 until 2:00 PM in the church.
Survivors are daughter, Dr. Audrey Ward and husband Charles; son, Chester Ray and wife Lois; five grandchildren, Carol Ray, Scotland Ward, Tronda Moss Bryan, Kiya Ward, and Donnell Ray Sr.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Moss and Donnell Ray, Jr.; nieces and nephews.

Pearlie Mae Walker
ROXBORO — Pearlie Mae Walker, 92, of 107 Allgood St., Roxboro, died Thursday, June 5, 2014. Born in Person County, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Lem and Lonie Tingen Carver and wife of the late Ernest Walker. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and attended Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice W. Long, and her granddaughter, Robbin Suzanne Walker.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her son, Mike Walker and wife Pat, of Roxboro; three grandchildren, Andy Harris, Kendall Harris, and Jenny Hurdle and husband Bryan, all of Roxboro; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Forbis, Casey Harris, Morgan Harris, Kaitlin Harris, Sara Harris, Collin Hurdle, Mary Quinn Hurdle and Hudson Davis Hurdle; one great-great-grandchild, Paisley Forbis; one sister, Mabel Chambers, of Roxboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church, Roxboro by the Rev. Barry Chambers and the Rev. Ross Thompson. Burial will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30PM Saturday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
