Man arrested with anxiety, narcolepsy drugs
DURHAM – A Durham man was arrested after being accused of possessing drug paraphernalia and drugs used to treat disorders and mental illnesses.
Seth Thomas Smith, 29, of Statler Drive, was arrested and charged with simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance, two counts of simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Smith allegedly had 12.5 tablets of methylphenidate, 10 tablets of alprazolam and 2 capsules of temazepam, drugs that treat illnesses ranging from ADHD, anxiety, depression and insomnia.
Smith is also accused of having a scale, grinder, two marijuana pipes, cigarette paper, cigarette roller and drug containers in his possession.
He was being held under a $2,000 bond.

In other crime:
• Terence Tillison Winstead, 33, of Roxboro was arrested and charged with two counts of assault on a female. In one incident, Winstead is accused of striking the victim in the face and kicking her in the upper body. For those charges, Winstead was under a $1,500 bond. In the second incident with a different victim, Winstead is accused of pushing the woman and striking her in the face with an open hand.
• Allan Lewell Fearrington Jr., 25, of N. Maple Street, was arrested and charged with assault on a female and communicating threats.
• Reginald Burnette, 59, of South Street, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held under a $1,000 bond.
• Travis Williams, 35, of Omega Road was arrested and charged with assault of a female.
• Mary Whitaker, 51, of Waring Street, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats after allegedly waving a gun in a threatening manner while aggressively approaching the victim and threatening to kill him. She was being held under a $2,500 bond.
• Alexandria Nicole Jackson, 21, of Gastonia, was arrested and charged with simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held under a $1,000 bond.
• Arles Exaias Pena-Espinal, 43, of Camellia Drive, was arrested and charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. He was being held under a $2,500 bond.
• Desmond L. Brown, 36, of Gerard Street, was arrested and charged with assault on a female after allegedly grabbing the victim and pushing her to the floor.
