Homeless man trespasses at Southpoint
DURHAM – A homeless man was arrested Saturday for allegedly breaking into a home and trespassing at the Streets at Southpoint.
Rayshad Richardo Minor, 20, of Durham, was arrested and charged with breaking and/or entering, possession of stolen goods/property, injury to real property, larceny after breaking and/or entering, misdemeanor larceny and second degree trespassing.
Minor is accused of breaking into an apartment on Hardee Street where he took assorted jewelry, a $2 bill and other items totaling $1,187. He is also accused of breaking a window to get into the apartment.
Minor also allegedly took an iPhone 5S from Mobile Now valued at $699 at the Streets at Southpoint.
Minor was being held with a $20,000 secured bond.
In other crime:
- Kadisha Alik Belk, 27, of Weaver Street in Durham, was arrested and charged with simple assault and interfering with emergency communications after allegedly knocking a woman to the ground and punching her in the face then throwing her cellphone when she tried to call for help. Belk was being held with a $500 secured bond.
- Derrick Deshaune Lee, 30, of Emily Street in Durham, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed gun. Lee is accused of having one gram of crack cocaine, a bundle of small, blue plastic bags and a .380 kel tech handgun. Lee was convicted of murder in 2003. He was being held without a bond.
- Robert Mark Smith, 61, of Cole Mill Road in Durham, was arrested and charged with assault serious bodily injury after allegedly inflicting a serious laceration on a person’s top lip that required stitches. He was being held with a $20,000 secured bond.
- Racarod Johnson, 34, of Maynard Avenue in Durham, was arrested and charged with assault on a female, assault on an unborn child and injury to personal property after he allegedly punched a pregnant woman in the face, pulled her hair and broke her cellphone. He was being held without a bond.
