Teens injured in Durham shooting
DURHAM – Two teens were shot – both in the lower extremities -- in separate incidents Tuesday night.
An 18-year-old was shot in the common area at the rear of building 23 on Wabash Street in McDougald Terrace.
Immediately after the shooting, several people were seen running from the scene.
The 18-year-old male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Then just after 11 p.m., in the 200 block of Cook Road, a 17-year-old male also was shot.
The victim “was shot once in the lower extremities by an unknown suspect,” according to a news release from the Durham Police Department. A relative took him to the hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The incidents remained under investigation late Wednesday. No suspects or motive information was released in either shooting.

Woman attacks two people

DURHAM – A Durham woman on Tuesday was arrested on charges that she attacked two people, injuring one of them.
Police said Christine Ligay Pearce, 37, of Pleasant Drive broke into a home and struck a man on the head with a beer bottle. She’s also accused of throwing knife at a woman in the home, but the knife struck the man instead, investigators reported.
Pearce was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with serious injury, communicating threats and breaking and entering. She was held without bond in the Durham County Jail.

- Milton Evans, 50, of Fargo Street in Durham was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony hit and run with serious injury, driving with a revoked license, marijuana possession and misdemeanor probation violation. The hit-and-run charge stems from a Feb. 26 accident near the intersection of Fayetteville and Buxton. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $31,000 bond.
- Glendon Michael Finley, 38, of Wedgedale Avenue in Durham was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking opium or heroin, conspiracy, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $554,500 bond.
- Jamar Montez McLean, 23, of Dale Street in Durham was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault inflicting serious injury and assault by strangulation. He was held without bond in the Durham County Jail.
