Police identify drivers in Durham accident

Police on Monday identified the motorcyclist who was injured in a wreck on North Duke Street over the weekend.

Jeremy Taylor, 22, of Durham remained hospitalized from Sunday’s accident between Horton and Holt School roads, according to Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael.

Taylor was critically injured about 5:48 a.m. when his motorcycle collided with a truck driven by Rory King, 52, of Roxboro. King wasn’t hurt.

No charges had been filed late Monday, but the accident remains under investigation.

In other news:

-         Kalid Gillard, 25, of Gray Avenue in Durham was arrested Sunday and charged with intimidating a witness. He was released from the Durham County Jail after posting $40,000 bond.

-         Khiry Lamonte Venable, 21, of Stone Fence Court in Durham was arrested Monday and charged with possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed gun. He was held in the Durham County Jail under $25,000 bond.
