Wedding band, safe stolen

DURHAM – Burglars hit a home Sept. 16 in the 4300 block of Waterford Valley Drive and stole a wedding band, five rings, a Toshiba laptop computer, safe, car keys and watch worth $4,785.

Chapel Hill police investigate shooting

The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Pope Road in Chapel Hill at about 5:30 Tuesday. A man had gunshot wounds to his hand and abdomen. He was taken to UNC Hospitals. His injuries were not life-threatening, according to police.

Suspects left the area after the shooting in a white sedan, according to police.

In other crime:

- A trimmer and blower worth $600 were stolen Thursday from a vehicle in the 900 block of Alma Street in Durham.

- Police are investigating the theft of an iPhone 5 worth $500 from a juvenile in the 3800 block of Meriwether Drive in Durham. The theft was reported Friday.

- Two rifles, a shotgun, jewelry, $150 cash, television, football and Gateway laptop computer worth $2,211 were stolen Sept. 16 from a home in the 1600 block of Euclid Road in Durham.
