Husband stabbed to death in Oxford
A 35-year-old man was stabbed early Wednesday at his home on Belltown Road, south of the city, and later died at Granville Medical Center.
Rotonya Russell, 40, of 4238 Belltown Road, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing of her husband, Carlos.
Granville County Sheriff Brindell Wilkins said the two were arguing around 2:30 a.m. when the husband was fatally stabbed.
Wilkins said the investigation is ongoing. “She ended up stabbing him in the neck and as a result he died,” he said.
Wilkins said the couple’s 15-year-old daughter witnessed the incident and called law enforcement.
“I hate that a child was there seeing this,” Wilkins said.
Wilkins said the daughter is now staying with other family members.
