Police continue to investigate shootings
Police continued their investigation Tuesday of a drive-by shooting on Drew Street and a double shooting on West Trinity Avenue.
The gunfire in the 900 block of West Trinity near downtown was reported at 3:42 p.m. Monday. Two men were shot and drove from the scene in private vehicles before police and emergency medical personnel arrived, Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
The men were treated for serious injuries, and investigators are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shootings, she said. No charges have been filed.
About two hours later, police were called to a shooting in the 1000 block of Drew Street, off North Alston Avenue. A man was standing outside a house when he was wounded in a drive-by shooting. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Police have reported no arrests.
