Fire displaces occupants
Fire heavily damaged a rental house Tuesday afternoon at 1902 Broad St., fire officials said. No one was hurt.
Firefighters were called to the house about 1 p.m.
They said no one was home, but two dogs were outside and were taken into temporary custody by animal control officials. Initial reports indicated the dogs were not hurt.
Four occupants were displaced and made arrangements for temporary housing. The Red Cross was not called to assist them.
The fire started in the kitchen, but the cause was being investigated Tuesday.
