Man told to remove pants and run after 2 are robbed
Police said a man was ordered to remove his pants and run away after he and a female friend were robbed Tuesday night.
He escaped unhurt.
Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said the robbery happened
around 8:45 p.m. in Lynnhaven Apartments on Lynn Road.
The victim told officers that he and a female friend were going to the apartment complex to buy some music sound tracks. As they pulled into the complex, a man flagged them down, pulled a gun and robbed them. The suspect told the man to take off his pants and run, and he ran without his pants to a nearby church for help.
Meanwhile, the woman drove home and officers spoke to her when she returned to the scene.
The suspect apparently ran after taking cash, a purse and phones, Michael said. He was described as black, thin and in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
The male victim at first thought the suspect may have fled in their vehicle with the woman, but when she returned to the scene, she told them she was not carjacked or kidnapped.
Police said no arrest had been made as of Wednesday.
