Police seek alleged burglar

DURHAM - Police are trying to locate Peter Warren Chambers II, who is wanted on burglary, larceny and fraud charges.

Chambers, 23, of Mahone Street, is charged with breaking into a home on Mayruth Drive in February and stealing cash and a television set. He is also charged with stealing a television set in May.

Man faces assault charges

DURHAM – Lamar Colin Welch, 25, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault by strangulation, communicating threats, assault on a female, destruction of property, interfering with 911 communications and breaking or entering. He was released Monday from the Durham County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

 

In other crime:

- Latoya Downey, 32, of Barnhill Street, was arrested Saturday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats. Downey was released Monday from the Durham County Jail on a $2,000 bond.

- Savoye Raheem Bellamy, 31, of Greenbriar Road, was arrested Friday and charged with assault by strangulation, assault on a female and communicating threats. Bellamy was released the same day from the Durham County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

- Marissa Frederick Bryson, 43, of South Alston Avenue, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Bryson was in the Durham County Jail Wednesday under bonds totaling $12,000.

- Recardo Brown, 32, of Charles Street, was arrested May 5 and charged with assault by strangulation and assault on a female. Brown was released May 7 from the Durham County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

- Dashon Xabier Long, 18, of Turning Point Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Long was in the Durham County Jail on Wednesday under a $35,000 bond.

- Thieves stole $900 from a house in the 1000 block of Burch Avenue. The theft was reported to police May 5.
